I am using a daft innovations crossmember, he is CNCing a groove in the side so I can slide the plate in to where it needs to be (mine is not a conversion kit car) then weld it.

For a mount I am using am energy suspension red poly mount, same one that was on my old trans

Went to Elite JDM earlier. Put down a nice deposit on coilovers and S15 Spec R parts.

say hi to my new front end.

I also plan on getting a Greddy Gracer lip for the S15 bumper, should match the skirts okay and fit nice.

Got under her today, damn its cold out.

The transmission cant go up any higher, There is an obstruction which would be a a nightmare to remove.

I dont think the daft innovations crommember can be used now, but I will see once I get it. I hacked up my old one today and started mocking it up for use.. Requires adding some hefty plates, notching it, bracing it, and making a mounting plate. So well see how I attack this last nightmare.

The two ears where the bellhousing attaches to the trans are pressed against the tunnel. I cant lift the tail up anymore.

So its cut the tunnel and reweld it, or just lengthen the shifter.... the ladded is easier.

I did some rough mock up, and started making my own crossmember, its going to very easy, all 90 degree welds.

Just have one more plate to measure cut, drill and spot weld for the transmission crossmember. I used 1 7/16 wide 1/4 inch steel plate for the crossmember. I am going to drop it off at my buddies for notching, tigging and he is also going to add gussets for support. I think the crossmember will the the toughest crossmember out there. Stock is formed 16 gauge where this is close to 8 gauge.

Is is also going to lengthen the shifter arm. Gonna add 1.5 inch to it, still gonna be short with a short throw.

It nice knowing a professional welder with access to tig, mig, arc, stick, sand blaster and a powder coater.

Crossmember is fabbed and spot welded. My friend is welding it all up tomorrow, as well ad adding 2.5 inches to the shifter. Time has been rough with the snow and work, but I hope to the underside tied up by next week.

Then its off with the front end, install goodies, lower it on some BC's and tow to the body shop.

Trans has been in but I had no crossmember. I ordered one from Daft Innovations, but it was lost in shipping. Another one needed to be machined and I was waiting on that. I got impatient and measured my own and looked at the pics of the daft mount and relized it would not work my tail is sitting about an inch lower then the daft kit.

So I made my own

Also burnt the hell out of my arm, a welding cinder shot off and went down my sleeve and stick to my wrist.

I need to flip the drive shaft loop bolts, put the exhaust on, hope there are no issues, and pull it out.

Do you have to cut and weld the s15 fender to your s13 fender?

Yeah they need to be cut and merged together. I have a pair of S13 fenders in the one pic, but I found some rot on the one so now I need to find another.

Slept in woke up putzed around and got to work.

First I removed the bumper, hood and one fender. Torqueded the motor mount and bellhousing bolts, fixed the DS safelty loop issue, and put the exhaust back on.

Now I am drinking some wine, eating pizza and warming up. I want to clean up my mess in the garage.

Front end is being sold tommorow, then once I get the car running on the tow truck it goes to 5 stars auto for body / paint. Then I's off to the tuner for a retune. With a corrected AFR I want 450RWHP with about 450-475 tq

Sold the front end, modded the S15 core to fit, test fitted the OEM s15 bumper. Header is hitting the rack, grr gotta fix that now.

Gonna drop off the new intake manifold, and strut bar for powder coating this week.

My transmission crossmember.

Heavy duty as f***! I made it and spot welded it, buddy tigged it all up and added gussets. Primed twice and painted metallic black.

Same for the wieand intake, letting on intake painted metallic silver

Painted using epoxy spray primer, then some Rustoleum dark gray metallic from home depot.

I figured I'd paint it and see if I like the intake and if it gains or gives heat issued before I put money into having it coated.
