Outside temperature display??

hey~I just found out that the outside temperature display of my coupe is kinda weird~like today's temp is around 80~but it just shows as 60 to 67~it increases very solwly~like you have to wait 2~3 min to let it increase by 1(ex: 62->63, 63->64)...so does this mean that my sensor is out of order? if it is, would it be expensive and complicate to change the temperature sensor? I didnt put anything next to the sensor~so there is no reason to affect the temperature by any force or materials.

depending on how the system is designed, it could be the sensor of the unit receiving signals from the sensor. It's hard to say without testing. It defeinitely should be somewhat close to the actual temperature though.

The sensor is actually located up front by the condenser. Depending upon where the car is located (sun/shade, garage or drive way) it may take a while to get an accurate reading. From your explanation it sounds normal.

if it is way off the ambient temp sensor could be bad...and its very easy to change...

thanks for all the reply~yeah~the car is still under warranty~i think i will wait for 2 ~3 days more to see the prob is fixed or not~If not~I will take it back to the dealer( 3hrs driving,sigh)
