I would like to install an outside temperature display inside my Rogue. Is there an easy place where I could pass the wire from inside the cabin to the outside? Also, according to you what would be the best place to hide it outside: front/back? inside bumper? Thanks for the help.

If you buy oem therm sensor and speedometer from sl premium pckg. you will get oem thermometer. I'm not sure if it will work with regular speedometer (not from premium) but there's icons that doesn't lite up such as mpg and F. The wires already installed behind the front bumper. If you still want to install aftermarket thermometer then maybe this would be the best spot for you.

Thanks.

Actually I was not looking for OEM temp indicator but more a basic aftermarket thermometer. It is cheaper (less than $20).

FYI I have installed it.

The probe wire, which is quite thin, runs under the driver's door seal, close to the upper hinge, and from there to the engine compartment. It is a "stick-on" probe that I have placed in front of the car just under the bumper. Engine's heat does not affect it and it's not in direct sunlight.

The displayed temp is quite accurate (for a $15 device...)

I'll try to post some pics later.

I haven't looked but there should be existing holes in the firewall for cables running from the engine bay to the cabin.

According to the published specs (and also the physical reality of my own 2010 Rogue SL), you should already have an external temperature display. Its one of the things you cycle through on the drivers display. I didn't think it was an option.

All icons DO light up. Did you try to read the service manual ? Page 32

I'm also looking for information how to switch the sensor on. Don't tell me this is impossible. I won't believe :)

Nobody says it's impossible but nobody tried it at that time. Thanks for returning dead subject back to life but if you don't have proof like pics, sensor number with price etc. and people get no help after a long time then what? People love to see pics...especially on forums.

sensor part# 27710-31U00
could be found on ebay for $50
Smart guys suggest me to hook up a resistor 1..10kOm before purchasing the sensor to figure out whether the temperature will show up or not. I'm almost sure that it won't without initialization the sensor via the Consult-III diagnostic device.
