It was a hot day here in NY today, but not 102. The outside temperature reading on my G37 was varying about 15 degrees throughout the day of driving. In other cars I've had, the outside temperature reading on a hot day would start out high, but eventually come down to an accurate reading after driving for awhile. Today the reading went from 89 to 96, then 102 and it stayed there for a good 15 minutes. It was all over the place. Does anyone else find the outside temperature reading that far off, or have such large swings?

My indoor temp. showed 113, but the transmitter was sitting on an iron table on the deck. Wasn't that hot. The temp gauge in my G is usually off several degrees too.

I've noticed it off like you said when i first get in, prob cus its been sitting baking in the sun so naturally its gonna say its hotter, but after a few minutes, it seems accurate. It read 97 today which is about right for what was predicted. It is crazy hot here

The temp reading in my G was on point when I washed it today... It said 97 and was at its highest when it read 99... and I still managed to slave over that thing and give it a good washing!!

Welcome to NICO

Mine read high yesterday after being parked in the sun. It usually takes 10 - 15 min of driving before it gives a true reading. It was around 96 here yesterday. Mine usually matches the temp given on the all news stations here or on my weather widget on my laptop computer.

Just like others mine is off about few degrees at the start and it goes to the right temp. Only a few degrees. Yesterday and Friday it was arond 100 with the humid here. Not bad I have not used the AC yet. Rolled down the window and enjoyed the sound of the 300+ ponies.

At home thecentral AC was going.

Radio/TV temperature is measured in the shade at 10 feet above grass.

Solar/highway temp can easily be 10-15F hotter plus exhaust temps from vehicles in front reflected heat from ac evaportor will be 20F hotter than ambient when slow in traffic.

Display shows you what the front of vehicle is actually seeing not a standarized temperature.

AS a double check use a Consult to see what IAT [intake air temp inside MAF] is reading don't faint.

I drove through Death Valley last summer and the temp gauge said it was 108 degrees. At 4 in the frigging morning. I am so glad we decided to drive at night on that trip.

It hit 99 in NJ according to my G yesterday. I'm sure today will be hotter, but I'm staying in. Yesterday was hot enough in my car that my phone broke. I'm told that if it is charged while in high heat, the board inside will melt. Seems that's exactly what happened. Verizon gave me a new one, so all is good. But wow it was hot.

Mine read the same temp as my house digital thermometer early this morning so i know it is accurate. (76) When I started my G parked in the sun this afternoon, it read 108. After driving 20 miles here in NJ it fell to 103 and read 99 when i got home. This feels like $ucking Arizona.
