Outkast video : Flat black ?

hey everyone,

have you guys seen the outkast roses video? well big boi's old school muscle car is some kind of flat black with a red design. the black doesnt look like a normal flat black, it has some sort of sheen to it, can someone help me figure out how to replicate that myself? thanks

i cant really describe, you have to see the video, its has light sheen to it not a shine

yeah, semi gloss or a flat black with some clear shot over it.

I wish I could remember what that car was now...

haven't seen the video enough

clear coat will negate the effect.

can you be more specific with how to get that color is it flat black primer with clearcoat?if not what is it??

I saw the Skunk Civic in last months SS mag, it was a flat black with some sheen, said they did it with a flat black, then a satin clearcoat. Looks pretty good....

This flat black look is very popular in the hot rod scene now...

It is very similar to ahhsk's car. The only differences are either in the lighting of the video or in your mind.
