alright so i havent been on the forum for a while because my old account isnt working for some reason but this is really bothering me.
i recently bought the spacer that goes between the head and the stock waterneck with the fitting for a temp sensor seen here

http://www.phase2motortrend.com/difwaneadsrr.html

it goes on the outbound waterneck on the motor. My stri gauge is telling me im staying at a constant 230-250 degrees from the time the car warms up to when i shut it off. correct me if im wrong but the coolant is at its hottest when its passing through this thing so.....is that temp normal? my stock gauge in the cluster stays right in the middle but i dont know what to trust anymore. im running the isis radiator package with the two 12 inch fans wich should be enough to keep it cool.

somebody help me out here, im scared to drive my car.

i would relocate your sensor to the lower radiator hose connection area on your radiator. i am using a isis alum radiator and a stri xline v2 water temp and i read 150-170 in the summertime while driving it pretty hard and i have my sensor in this location. (has been checked by nistune consult)

yea ill probably have to end up doing that. took the car out for a drive today and it was sitting at 230 for a while and at a long stop light it hit 250. the wierd thing is that as soon as i turn the car off but leave accesories on it imediately drops down to 210. im pretty sure its a combination of the sensor being where it is and the fact that the coolant is flowing by it so fast that makes it get up to 250.

this sucks cuz i unloomed my entire harness so that the sensor wire could be a part of the harness itself and then reloomed it all..... :tisk:

I see temp at the cooling passage on the head (hottest part), and at the lower hose. I run an LS and they are designed to run a lot hotter. I see 160-210 there, and 145-175 at the lower hose.

maybe i should get a second temp gauge so i can know inbound and outbound temp like your setup.

if i do this and im seeing 170-190 inbound and still seeing 230-250 outbound, should i concider this a problem?
what could be making it run so damn hot. the system is bled, its a 50/50 mix of coolant and water, and its all stock besides a freddy intake mani and meagan exhaust mani.

im gonna throw the old clutch fan on as soon i can find an sr shroud and see if that does better than my electric setup

It will be a problem for sure. I would pressure test first to see if there are any leaks internal or external, followed by a good bleeding. Try using 60 to 70% water, coolant and a bottle of water wetter.
