Out with Bose in with New

Has anyone else that owns a 2002+ Q upgraded the factory stereo????

Did a search and couldnt find much.....

I am wanting to replace most if not all my factory Bose speakers. Can I just swap these straight out? Does each bose speaker have its own amp like in the maximas? If so, that is fine, I am looking to buy a Precision Pwer Ax606.2 to run everything and maybe another PPI art series to run a sub(s).

BUT, I want to keep my factory radio/headunit installed.

Any help would be appreciated!!!

The F50 has one amp that I know of near the subwoofer. I think speakers can be easily removed and replaced.

If the set up is a traditional Bose, each speaker has its own amplifier and the HU uses hi Z outputs.

I think Nissan went with the cheaper/simpler design starting in the late 90s where there's one main Bose amp. Try downloading the 02+ Q45 service manual at q45.org.

I got the FSM downloaded already, does it show what I need? Also wondering about the factory speakers sizes. I think there are 7 speakers and a 12" sub right?

I found this in the manual, looks like one main amp supplies all the juice, correct?

That is correct, one amp feeds all speakers.

Interesting. So are the outputs equalized llike the old amps on speakers?

I doubt you will get any real improvement unless you replace the amp and speakers. The amp puts out 300watts...
