most of the guys that own evos and stis in my area have them supped up to around 400 whp (although I know they are all wheel drive). Will our cars tuned to around 350-360 whp take awd evos and stis putting out 400 whp?

From a dig, you'll never beat an AWD unless you are at the track and have some nasty 60 foots. From a roll, with that power you should have no problem taking an Evo Or STI. They weight significantly more than our cars.

When my car had somewhere around 200whp I took a stock evo on the highway starting around 40mph... no contest.

me with 16 psi making 370 to the wheels raced a stock sti lol. the result wasnt even funny.

sure he beat me off the line in 1st. he shifted to 2nd and so did i. thats when i pulled up dead even with him. then i shifted up into 3rd and hit boost, cams opened up and it really was a case of " goodbye mr Bond"!

i was still pulling away in 3rd when he had to shift up into 4th loosing even more time.

I raced a stock sti with my basic sr swap (with minor bolt-on's) and he beat me off the line but by the time i was through second gear i was gone. Granted a lot has to do with the driving but all things being fair, I smoked him.

well my sr20 putts 250 hp to the wheels and i beat a sti from a 20 and 40 roll... the sti was stock and my car was runnin stock boost so... its power to weight ratio that counts i honestly think you could beat a sti for sure from a roll idk about a evo... i dont mess with those

Why would you be willing to run stock sti's but not stock evo's? The stock sti is slightly faster in a straight line than the stock evo.

All the magazine testings came out to the sti being faster in a straight line and with the evo out handling the sti. The sti also has the bigger engine, more horsepower, and they both weigh the same. I realize there are other factors like modifications, driver, etc, but from the factory, the sti is faster in a straight line and has more hp. I'm not sure why some people think stock evo's are faster than stock sti's.

im not trying to get on anyones nerves but on top gear (the show) they proved the sti is slightly slower i dont own one so i dont know for sure soo... im just telling u that sti' s can be beat with a blacktop sr20 with a tune and some upgrades here and there... stis and evos are fast as hell dont get me wrong. my point was u can get evos in ur area that have 400 horse with a upgraded turbo for sure just buy the right items... make sure to get studs before turbo and gasket
