Hey everyone - can't get our Rogue to start. Apparently it was having trouble starting all day today, and now tonight, it won't start at all.

I tried jumping it to no avail, so that makes me think it isn't a battery or alternator issue.

Does that pretty much mean bad starter? It sounded like it was trying to turn it at first I think....

I'll bring the multimeter home with me tomorrow. Any suggestions are appreciated....

It seemed to be clicking at first, and the lights and everything seemed fine... I'll have to check again tomorrow.

Did you notice anything out of the ordinary prior to this such as dim lights? It's possible the alternator went up taking the battery along with it.

if it clicks, and the lights DONT dim - starter. if you can crawl under the car - try to take a hammer and tap the starter a couple times. they can get stuck, and hitting them helps. (you would be surprised how often this helps)

if the lights are all dim, dead battery.
