Howdy Z'ers and happy holidays to all!

I've been on my third Z for a few years now, a '93 'vert I bought as a project car for my dad which never happened, so back to me. I'm no stranger to building, repairing, upgrading, yada yada yada, and I have no issues with used parts.

I drive the Z quite a bit, and on a recent weekend trip to Charlottesville the wiper arms became entangled and wreaked havoc on the linkage AND the motor. I bought replacement linkage from Z1 and a motor from eBay, and in the interim I disassembled the wiper motor to discover the primary gear in pieces. That got me to wondering about alternative wiper motors/parts from other Nissans/Infinitis of the same vintage, looking at their builds. I'm amazed how every single Nissan vehicle had a different design, although I suspect perhaps the mechanics of at least one of the motors may be identical, hence starting this thread. Has anyone done research on assemblies (not only wiper motors) from different model vehicles that are either a direct fit for the Z32 or maybe have compatible internals allowing us to effect rebuilds?

I realize a wiper motor isn't much of a thing, there seem to be plenty in the used marketplace, and at the same time it'd be pretty nice to rebuild what I have.

Thoughts anyone? Have a good one!

I daily drive a '95 with 119k miles. I'm the second owner.

I've had to replace some parts from normal maintenance. To me, it's easier and more true to the car to use OEM, if available.

As recently as five years ago when I bought the car, my Z-centric repair shop did a mechanical restoration on the car. I wanted it to drive as new. Z1 Motorsports is the source we used for OEM and other parts that made more sense (like the metal splash guard under the engine and 1996+ JDM manual transmission).

It's only original once...
