...all S12s had a version of the CA save for the 1987-88 SEs that had VG30Es.hbpignosePA wrote:yup yup they had US spec single cam CA turbos in some of the s12s
He bought the car with all those things installed.mrgreeneyes wrote:clearly the OP is not worried about power, reliability, or anything really, other than pinching pennies.
no intercooler, "full suspension", HKS super "drager" *not DRAGGER* exhaust, and oil ALL over everything clearly shows that this car will live forever.
the ca18et is different for sure... but would be badass ONLY if FULLY BUILT, not just plopped in with XXX,XXX miles on it...
Ya that was oil all over the front accesories but when i did the head gasket i cleaned all that off and replaced all the topend and front seals so we should be good2.4Loflove wrote:correct me if im wrong, but isn't that oil all over the accessories? You might want to fix that oil leak if you haven't. other than that
CA18ET into a 240sx?Its different, but its a pretty shiitty swap. Non-intercooled, worse performance overall than what the car came with. Well i suppose originallity is all that matters ehh.racer_guy89 wrote:
let me know what u think
ya the plan is to put in the ca18det motor. also to do rhd and we arent goin with stock seats so thats not needed. The glass has 180sx stickers over 240sx( the guy before us did it) but depending on price authentic 180 glass might be worth it. and im in the process ogetting a 240sx coupe shell that i want to make KA-T so thatll be sweet. Thanks on ur imput on it tho.ilovesideways wrote: Are you going to swap in a different motor? Like maybe a CA18DET or an SR20DET? By the time you do a bunch of stuff to that SOHC CA you will only be slightly above stock SR20DET power... I'm not a huge fan of the SR I mean I like them but personally I would stick with a KA-T... Also if you do want it to be a 180sx you need an SR, 180sx Glass, 180sx Seats, RHD, etc, etc. P.S if need be I can order 180sx glass for a fair price with shipping for a fellow NICO Member.... Good luck on the build
if you read before it is how i got it i didnt do the swap and am not planning on keeping the single cam motor it is just what is in there so we can drive it while we build out ca18det motor which is in our friends garage.Nali wrote:CA18ET into a 240sx?Its different, but its a pretty shiitty swap. P.S why is it labeled as a 180sx build. It doesnt have the 180sx engine, nor is it RHD
Maybe you could sell the car for a profit to someone who doesnt know any better. Just tell them its a JDM 180sx. And that it even has the 1.8 litre engine that denotes the name 180SX. Cuz at that engines age i would daily drive or track it without a full rebuild. And even then the work wouldnt be worth it.....unless of course i was planning on achieving originality and nothing more.
P.P.S You need to clean that engine bay, even my(notoriously dirty engine bay) isnt that dirty.
So what are you gonna do with the ET?? Please tell me you are gonna put it in a 120Y or Nissan Bakkie. Id love to see one of those cars with this engine.racer_guy89 wrote:if you read before it is how i got it i didnt do the swap and am not planning on keeping the single cam motor it is just what is in there so we can drive it while we build out ca18det motor which is in our friends garage.
No clue really put it in the corner as a fall back for when we decide to pull the det and build it bigger or somethin. haha really no clue what to do with itNali wrote:
