'12 with 134k miles, timing chain stretch (replaced under the recall in '16) and lifter bucket missing metal. Dealership said not fixable, was quoting used engine at $19k and new engine at $26k.
Getting $5k from a junk yard for it. That hurts the wallet.

We picked up a '19 Armada Platinum Reserve with 19k miles 3 days ago.

How often did you change the oil, what weight? Did it ever overheat to cause it to stretch? I am in the market to get an 11-13 QX56, but I have heard the timing change issues can be a nightmare of problems.

Ouch, perfect change-outs, were you the original owner from when it was new? Just trying to think of why it would still happen when you are still following through with recommendations and everything and still kick you down.
