Driving to work last friday I literally jumped over a dead (or dying)animal in the road and it pulled off the wiring harness to my O2 sensors (see pic)... now my problem is finding a trustworthy repair facility other than the nissan dealership 70+ miles away and towing cost $200. it is not drivable and I'm pretty sure the oil pan has been pushed in any suggestions? is it possible for me to repair this myself?

If the wires are torn you might be able to splice the wires as it is, how bad exactly is the oil pan pushed in?

There were 4 plastic plugs on the exposed wires 2 were shredded and the connector that holds the harness to the frame is gone.
All the wires still have their metal connectors but it looks like spaggetti. :tisk:
As for the oil pan, isn't it supposed to be Flat on the bottom? It's pushed up about an inch or so making it look like an inverted bowl.

If the dent in the oil pan doesnt look that serious you might just be able to simply knock it back out, for the 02 wiring you just might want to order new pieces from Nissan or any other reputable source.

(For what its worth, me and wiring are like oil and water.)

I can't imagine what you hit that did all that, did you ever figure out what it was? I hit some roadkill a few weeks ago at night, truck in front in front of me just straddled it and by the time I saw it was too late to do much. I got got away with a dented flex pipe on the passenger side exhaust (and some dead animal stink for a couple of days until it got burned off) - I'll count myself very lucky after your incident.

I hope the mechanics take good care of you and get you on the road in time to enjoy some spring driving!

Is the car acting strange? It probably just needs to be cleared

Well as it turns out both O2 sensors are shot. Having the wires ripped out has caused them both to malfunction  add $260. + installation :tisk: and the fun continues.......... :ohno: lol actually its a really great car and I wouldn't trade it for ____.

Ok, folks the check engine light kept coming on after replacing the O2 sensor on #2 cat twice so the service advisor decides to run a pin test to see what was really wrong and found the #2 cat was bad.
Rather than go through the insurance they replaced it under the powertrain warranty. But Wait a minute this started in April!!!!@#$%^&* :wtf2: sigh.......she runs like a scalded dog now and mileage has improved by 1-2 mpg!an no check engine soon lamp :nono:
I need some input from you peeps please. I took off the "racing" stripes
and cant decide if I should replace them. you saw the after pics heres the before pic. thank you in advance for your input.

I'm really torn on which one I think looks better. There are too many silver/gray cars on the road, so to me it's not a colour I'm very partial to. But your paint looks outstanding, a lot of depth and shine to it from the pics you've posted up, so part of me says to not cover it up. But the stripe is pretty subtle and breaks up the solid pattern and helps you stand apart from the bazillion other silver cars out there.

If I had to pick I'd say keep them though. And there is a part of my reptilian, energy conserving (read - lazy) self that wouldn't mind a silver car because I wouldn't have to wash it so often. :)

Glad you're up and running so you can enjoy some of the roads this summer. With all the rain we've had where I am I'd be better off with a boat!
