I was wondering if there are any alternatives for a transmission besides the standard or auto that came with the model? It would be cool to find out that some other random car has a transmission that could be used. was wondering if anyone has come across anything

5 speed from a 300zx fits with modification and a kit. Ford c4 fits with modification and a kit. Seeing a trend?

Oh, wait. The manual from an SR20DET bolts right on :)

The rb trans that fits the ka is the rb20 5 speed trans. The Rb25 and the 26 trans don't bolt up...

There is a guy on ka-t.org that used the bellhousing from an AWD rb26 transmission, and a 5 speed z32 transmission with relatively minimal modifications. (enlarging or redrilling a few holes, and a different clutch slave cylinder) Seems like a pretty good idea. You would just have to address the shifter position and you're golden.
