Well I realize that for a 240sx / sr20det swap to happen you need to:get the carget the sr20det

But this is my question  :help  . When you buy the sr20det (lets say from a good company i.e. afterdark, unstable, heavy, etc. NOT FO). ---Do those companies give you all the parts neccesary for the swap?? or do you need to get a compatible transmission/cluth also ASIDE from the actual engine? ------Do the parts come in the form of a front clip or all separately taken apart????

Also how do the 240sx and sr20det wiring work together. Do you take out all the 240sx wiring and use the sr20det? Or do you somehow have a hybrid?

Also where would i find wiring diagrams and info on how to do the actual wiring?

well you canget just the engine and transmission seperate or you can get a front clip i believe most people here get a front clip cause you know or are at least pretty sure that everything you need is there as for the wireing i believe you use the wireing harness out of the front clip thats why you wanna look for one wiht an uncut harness but i could be wrong i think you have to do somethign to the harness to get it to work

Get the whole front clip . go to heavythrottle and get the diagram. Also you'll have to extend the ECU wiring 3ft to fit on the left hand drive 240sx from a 180sx/silvia.

Uh I dont think so. Unless you want the Ecu on your lap LOL.When you get a clip everythng is reversed on the clip the ecu is on the left so you have to convert it on the right on a US 240sx. :)

The engine mounts are the same for both right?

So if you get a front clip in good working order. Then what other additional parts would you need? Anything expensive like a transmission, etc. etc. (i know a new lsd would be nice but thats later on the wishlist)

Where should I look for a complete guide that covers all the small stupid newbie questions about this swap? (The forums cover it extensively. But is there a guide on this site that covers it all from step one? And if not here then where?)

Be nice to da noob.;)

Yes motor drops right in. Its really hard to explain stuff on the CPU you just have to get into the swap to really know. ;)

what iff you put your ecu on the right side? you would have to extend everything that came from teh left im guessing does anyone sell an extension for the harness?

Not sure man Best bet is to buy yourself some wire and do the extending yourself.

He read that already. Alan needs to update that. I'll get a hold of him. I think it was a logical question for a noob. Why are all the older peeps on here so bitter?? He's new and trying to learn just like everybody else. We all started at the bottom sometime. :)

Yes I did read all the stickies... geezz doesn't everyone? That's why they're there....

The sticky that you gave is not really a guide on doing the swap just so you know. That's why I was asking.

And I was asking about a guide on the WHOLE process not just something that is shallow or only takes a cursory glance at it. I wanted to find something that was indepth. As in they show pictures along with explaining every step of the way.

Sorta like: http://www.tccn.nl/st162/index.htm( :rolleyes cept I might like it a lil better if it was in ENGLISH! :rolleyes . Damn babelfish isn't working right! [altavista translator doesn't have dutch... yet! arg!])
