Well i just recently joined the 240 club. I bought my 91 240 for an amazing $850 , granted it needs some work, but im in love already. I cant believe how great torque feels. No longer will i drive in hondas. After owning a 96 civic and a 90 crx si, i must say that even my stock 240 feels so much better to drive. I cant wait to return it to stock form and upgrade soon after. Hope u dont mind me ranting about it, just had to get it off my chest. :ylsuper

yeswepromice is trying to say there are alot of converts due to the 240sx being the new thing to do now, until it gets old tomorrow. There is alot that can be said but i won't. Use the seach button on the popularity of the 240. Good or bad?

Maybe the guys did NOT buy their 240's due to wanting to "jump on the bandwagon". Doesn't sound that way to me. Sounds like they recognized what a great car the 240 is which is fantastic for our hobby. So now that the 240 is more popular, does that mean nobody else can buy one ever again or they will be labeled ? I could say the same about a lot of people....bought mine new in 90 or 91. Actually used to "drift" back in 1982 with a different car, which I no longer do. In fact, I traded my 240 on a truck in 96 and missed it so much I tracked it down through a few different states and owners to find it and buy the SAME one back. If people want to buy a 240, it should be encouraged so they are saved and not abandoned to junk yards or left sitting somewhere to rust away. Believe me....I have a factory turbocharged 1965 Chevy Corvair which half the people on this list probably never heard of. It's often referred to as the "Poor man's Porsche" Rear engined, air cooled, Corvette suspension, available with a 4spd and turbo if desired. They say the first Ford Mustang was inspired by the Corvair. People stopped buying them, Chevy stopped making them, parts became hard to find for awhile and they could have easily become extinct and forgotten. Fortunately people kept BUYING THEM as used cars and there is a fairlyl large aftermarket parts selection now. If you want something DIFFERENT, buy a Corvair. Check out http://www.corvaircorsa.com or just type Corvair in your search engine. Keep looking because some of the Corvairs can look kind of boring. (lok for the ones with aftermarket wheels & larger tires etc...) The late models, (LM) 65-69 are the coolest and have the most performance potential VS the early models, (EM) 60-64. Many LM's have been converted to V8's and they are UNREAL performance machines. Lets ENCOURAGE people to buy 240's, not whine because you had yours first....."before they were popular". Lets grow up.P.S. Sorry about the rant about the Corvair, but I wanted to make the point with the appropriate analogy. I would have to say the Corvair was the 240Sx of the 1960's and I love both cars. If anyone would like more info about Corvairs, please contact me.

Well just to defend myself somewhat.. I bought my 240 after taking it for a test drive. I had no idea there was a bandwagon for 240s.. The only one i knew about was hondas or even wrxs.. I bought my 240 for 3 reasons its style, torquey ride, and the fact that its rear wheel drive. So no bandwagons for me. Id rather ride in my sweet 240 :)

haha LE240, Ralph Nader deemed the Corvair. "Dangerous at ANY speed." hehe nice and i dont think this dude really means "jumping on the bandwagon" just a figure of speech, maybe.

Heh, the the Corvair is and old, horrible, rear-engined Chevy. :) I've been hearing a bit about Ralph Nader being anti-cool cars lately? Anyone got some links for some of that sh1t?

Not trying to highjack his thread but, there were three covairs running in an auto x event at the summer indy meet/auto x. Two of them were built for auto x and one was rusted and tired looking. I was surprised to see them running an Autocross. Nick

Several guys are racing (SCCA events etc...) Corvairs throughout the country and they are fairly competitive for mostly 60's technology. I may take my 240SX and my Corvair to the Beaverun Motorsports complex this summer near Pittsburgh. I believe there are more than 6000 members in the Corvair Owners Club of America (CORSA)Iv'e seen a few Corvair lowered, big wheels, low profile tires for the guys who like that sort of thing. The only unsafe Corvair as a lot of people think were the very early ones; 60-61 maybe. In 65 they changed the body style to something sleeker and the suspension to a Corvette type. Thanks for the space even though not 240SX specific.Check out these sites: http://autoxer.skiblack.com/ (Corvair Autocross site)http://www.corvaircentral.comhttp://www ... co....html http://www.yenkostinger.com
