Maybe the guys did NOT buy their 240's due to wanting to "jump on the bandwagon". Doesn't sound that way to me. Sounds like they recognized what a great car the 240 is which is fantastic for our hobby. So now that the 240 is more popular, does that mean nobody else can buy one ever again or they will be labeled ? I could say the same about a lot of people....bought mine new in 90 or 91. Actually used to "drift" back in 1982 with a different car, which I no longer do. In fact, I traded my 240 on a truck in 96 and missed it so much I tracked it down through a few different states and owners to find it and buy the SAME one back. If people want to buy a 240, it should be encouraged so they are saved and not abandoned to junk yards or left sitting somewhere to rust away. Believe me....I have a factory turbocharged 1965 Chevy Corvair which half the people on this list probably never heard of. It's often referred to as the "Poor man's Porsche" Rear engined, air cooled, Corvette suspension, available with a 4spd and turbo if desired. They say the first Ford Mustang was inspired by the Corvair. People stopped buying them, Chevy stopped making them, parts became hard to find for awhile and they could have easily become extinct and forgotten. Fortunately people kept BUYING THEM as used cars and there is a fairlyl large aftermarket parts selection now. If you want something DIFFERENT, buy a Corvair. Check out
http://www.corvaircorsa.com or just type Corvair in your search engine. Keep looking because some of the Corvairs can look kind of boring. (lok for the ones with aftermarket wheels & larger tires etc...) The late models, (LM) 65-69 are the coolest and have the most performance potential VS the early models, (EM) 60-64. Many LM's have been converted to V8's and they are UNREAL performance machines. Lets ENCOURAGE people to buy 240's, not whine because you had yours first....."before they were popular". Lets grow up.P.S. Sorry about the rant about the Corvair, but I wanted to make the point with the appropriate analogy. I would have to say the Corvair was the 240Sx of the 1960's and I love both cars. If anyone would like more info about Corvairs, please contact me.
