OT- Renault/Nissan news!!!

Today February 14, 2008 Renault-Nissan become the 3rd largest automaker in the world, only behind GM and Toyota .

I'm sorry to here that guigow, I love the French auto maker and have owned 2 Renault's so far. But you must remember even tho you hate French cars it was Renault who saved Nissan from going under in 2000.

The versa is a slightly longer version of the 08 Renault Clio. on the NIssan Renault Global B-Platform.

If you hate French cars, why drive a Versa? the Versa is much more similar to a Magane or Clio in it's execution, than a Previous generation Sentra or Altima. It's like saying you hate Hondas, but own an Acura.

Not to defend baseless stereo types... but when I first heard that the Versa was based on the Renault I was pretty apprehensive. I, too, had a very bad impression of French cars, particularly Renault and Peugeot. This is probably because my only exposure to them was near where guigow lives and they were, for the most part, crappy, run-down, cars.

Had I known that the Versa was developed in part by Renault I would not have bought one. I'm glad that I didn't know about it.

Hey I have only Driven my (dead) uncles Citroën SM.

It however was Amazing! French styling and hydraulics with a Beast of a Maserati V6 engine.

Incredible Car! ...and French (i think they owned Maserati when the car was built)

Just a little history on me I was trying to import a a new Renault Clio into the states but realized that it was going to be to expensive to import and get it past emission regulations.

Then I was told about the Versa from some friends of mine form the Renault Owners Club of North America and fell in love with the V.
