Hey guys, my girlfriend has a 2000 MGM that her mom gave her to use in college. anyways, from time to time after she starts it, it will die. she will let it sit for 5-10 minutes and it will start right up and run fine. also sometimes when she starts it she has to hold the gas to get it started then it idles fine. the fuel filter was changed about a year ago. im stumped, if anyone has an idea it would be greatly appreciated. i dont want her to get stranded at school one day. Thanks!

<---looks around for the closet Ford/Lincoln/Mercury online mechanic....lol

Gee this sounds familer. Her car is flooding out when cold. Check your coolant temp connector and make sure the sensor is reading correctly. I dont know the spec on it but can get it if you need it. It could also be an airflow meter problem or idle air control valve problem. By opening the throttle you are letting more air in to compensate for the rich mixture problem.
