hey guys.. workin on my final here and was wondering if anyone could help me out.. so anyone that knows this stuff and would like to help me out would be gr8.. thanks :)

its my final btw :(

1) describe in detail the difference between SRAM DRAM DDR SDRAM and RIMM iclude specifics about speed bus width data cycles clock and bandwith ect.

2)Diagram how you can tell the difference between a typical 184 pin DDR DIMM module and a typical 168 pin SDRAM DIMM module

3) Describe and diagram each of the following types of memory; conventional, upper, expanded, extended and high

4) describe the secifications of each of the following ATA standards; ATA-1 ATA-2 ATA-3 ATA-4 ATA-5 & ATA-6

5) describe the ATA-IDE drive settings that you can use in a PC today, include when you would be best served using each different configuratiion (IE. Master, Slave, Ect..)

6) why is the standard CHS Bios hardware limit 528.5MB?

7) Why is the ATA-5 interface hard drive limit 136.9GB

8) describe the primary components of the head disk assemble and their functions.

9)describe the logical components of a hard drive (cylinders, heads, sectors, tracks, clusters, allocation units)

10) what does low levle formatting do to a hard drive.

11) what does partitioning do to a hard drive?

12) what does high level formatting do to a hard drive?

13) describe how optical storage is diffrent than magnetic storage

14) why is a pit a raised bump?

15)what is the difference between CLV and CAV?

16)What is important to remember if you are setting up a dual boot configuration on a PC?

17)Define the following terms; resolution, dot pitch, refresh rate, vertical scan rate, horizontal scan rate, pixal, non-interlaced.

Hehehe, I'm sitting in my CCNA/CCNP class right now...I'm going to edit this, so that you can start answering....

1.SDRAM: 66/100/133 MHZ busDDRAM: 66/100/133/166 MHZ busRDRAM: 66/100 MHZ busWhen they say double (DDR) or quad-pumped (RDRAM), they mean that for every cycle, the memory is refreshed once, twice or four times.

2.DDR RAM has one notch and it's offcenteredSDRAM has two notches, one has about 16 pins on the opposite side of it, and it's second notch is also offcenteredRDRAM has one notch, in the middle

3.High <=64KConventional 65K-640KUpper 641K-1024KExpanded 1025K+

4.I can't remember 1 or 2, I think it was 6 and 13 or something like that.3.ATA33-Bandwidth MAXIMUM of 33.3Mbps4.ATA66-Bandwidth MAXIMUM of 66.6Mbps5.ATA100-Bandwidth MAXIMUM of 100Mbps6.ATA133-Bandwidth MAXIMUM of 133Mbps

5.Each UDMA controller supports a maximum of 4 devicesPrimary Master-Boot DrivePrimary Slave-Slave Drive or CD-ROMSecondary Master-CD-ROM or Slave DriveSecondary Slave-CD-ROM or Slave Drive

6.I have no idea... The restriction is BIOS related

7.I have no idea... The restriction is UDMA controller related

8.I can't remember, high school stuff..... http://www.howstuffworks.com

9.I can't remember, high school stuff..... http://www.howstuffworks.com

10.I can't remember, high school stuff..... http://www.howstuffworks.com

11.A partition divides a physical disk into multiple logical drives. With a 20GB HDD, you could have Partition #1 be 12GB (C Drive) and a Partition #2 8GB (D Drive)

12.I can't remember, high school stuff..... http://www.howstuffworks.com

13.I can't remember, high school stuff..... http://www.howstuffworks.com

14.I can't remember, high school stuff..... http://www.howstuffworks.com

15.I have no idea...

16.Make sure that your C drive is formatted as FAT32 because that is where your MBR will reside and DOS/BIOS cannot read NTFS. Also, I believe it has to be your primary master drive

17.resolution- the amount of pixels that your monitor displays... EX: 1280*1024, 1024*768, 800*600dot pitch-****.. it's a distance, and smaller is better... EX: .24>.28refresh rate-the amount of times that your screen is refreshed every secondvertical scan rate-horizontal scan rate-pixel-non-interlaced-

hit up dictionary.com for some other stuff and google will be your friend, i will try to remember some more though.

EDIT: see if themonarch is online right now, she is a CCNA/CCNP/A+
