prices might be good but unless you live close to the place where you can go and choose/test motor, I wouldn't personally, they have a bad rep on

http://www.honda-tech.com and few other places (do a search there)

places like phase2/sr/jspec have much better rep

Osaka! I love Osaka!! Ha Ha I thought they went out of business along time ago.... O'well. I bought my motor from them. It came with a bent rod, water and rust. I was complete however. I paid 900 bucks for it shipped. I was gona forge it out anyway.

I dont recomend them, specialy if you want a turn key motor. Talk to Jeff at SRSWAP.com. hes an awsome guy.

You get what you pay for.

My S14 engine was supposed to be a 97 ended up being a 95..cost 2400 shipped to Cali.was missing the MAF, radiator and fanshroud, and no piping whatsoever.the Cam Crank angle sensor was ****ed up to/ I think tahts what it's called..cost me another 150$totall i spent almost 1500 in extra parts to get it to work. the engine is in good shape though.try to get somekind of contract or sthing on paper saying exactly what you are going to get with all the parts included..it can be a hassle to run around after small parts, that cost a lot.

Hi,

I live about 2 hours from Osaka, if you are interested, I can test an engine for you and make sure it is good an it got all the parts, just pay for my trip fee and my time testing it.I have tested few engines there and some are bad which they claimed they were good, not just oaska, most of the jdm importers claim they test their engines, but that is bull****, If you get a good engine, usually it is the luck of the draw, last time I tested 5 engines before I got a clean one.some had no compression and some were seized.I highly recomend to get some one or yourself to test the engine before buying, it might cost you couple extra dollars but it will be peace of mind which will be worth it in the long run.PULSAR GTRRafi

I wouldn't buy from anyplace that refuses to stand behind the products they sell.

If you do get missing and/or bum parts your pretty much on you own with them. I hear many times they are "out of stock" of ECU's on a supposed complete motorset.

Read most of the messages in the link you posted, Dam they pissed off lots of customers, what the heck are they thinking if they want to stay in this business, thats why I test and inspect every engine myself, I don't trust their word or any other company unless I check it out.

listen to pulsar. he hooked me up fat been driving my redtop w/ smic and 10 psi for about 16k mi and no problems. I just did a compression test after drift day and it's still got the same compression as the day I got it. I drive home at least once a month and it's a 3 hr trip one way.

but isnt that coming from someone who imports engines himself?I think Osaka motors has a company in Canada, where they bring their stuff in to the US . because I know the place i was getting my engine from was in Canada and the name was osaka motors.

You get what you pay for. Osaka has problems, its your money and you can do what you want. You might get lucky like some people have, but chances are you will get screwed like the vast majority have.

As for this thread, if you want a reputable dealer then search. That topic has been covered a million times. The site sponsors sell quality products and take care of their customers.

I would be wary of a company with so many good and bad stories.. if you can afford it, buy from HT. I only hear good things about them.

Never used milage as an excuse to buy a motor, because it only helps if the odometer hasnt been rolled back (a fairly common practic now days I hear).
