hey, have any of you considered building a transmission using an OS Giken 5-speed close ratio gear set, with input and output shafts..sounds good what do you guys think?

I'm not too familiar with trannies, does the gear set come with all new synchros?

That doesn't seem THAT bad...A basic rebuild will cost you 1500, so you are talking around 2300 for a basically brand new transmission, with 0 miles on the gears...Where can you get the gears for 1800, I've never really come across anyone who has those parts (any OS Giken parts for that matter).

for the security of knowing your transmission can take uber horsepower is almost worth it. I'll be buying it in a few months.

the CA trannys are crap, if you can upgrade do so.

i thought it was common knowledge that our trannies could take a fair amount of hp, somewhere in the area of 500 or so. Am i correct?

SR20 shares the same gearbox with the DOHC KA... only the bellhousing is different.

CA18 shares the same gearbox with the SOHC KA... only the bellhousing is different.

for $2300 u could almost 23 ka trannies. and unless for goin to push 500hp i'd say its not worth it. if u could jsut get the input shaft i'd say get that. 95 240sx jsut twisted his
