Can someone please direct me to a site that features pictures of our 92-94 convertibles prior to or during the alteration process that was done in Los Angeles? If these are already posted someplace, I apologize ahead of time for being out of order. And I do not have a pic for that other than

That would be interesting to see. Doubt they are around though, company probably wants everyone to 'think' they were originally convertibles.

I would think those would be leftover coupes from 93. Yeah, I love to see some pictures of our verts in ASC facility being modified by technicians.

so, would it be safe to say that if mine is a 1992 vert, it likely came across the big puddle looking like a complete 1991 240sx Coupe? With a lot of "cut here" lines drawn on it? (or on their instruction booklet, anyway). It blows my mind that they would start with a normal vehicle and add, add, add, all the stuff (I keep hearing that our cars weigh much more than a coupe because of extra strengthening items necessary). And all behind closed doors. So, if I grab a pic of a 1991 coupe, there is my answer, huh? I thought a coupe would have a hatch in the back versus a trunk.

That confused me.

But yeah verts came here as coupes (SEs maybe?). If SEs they removed the power side mirrors. But that would have been easier than adding all the power windows to the base models.

I'd say that we have a little to no chance whatsoever in finding any pre-production pictures.

Even if they still existed, they would be proprietary information that would be protected by both Nissan and ASC. It took us months to get ahold the just the production totals from ASC. Anything more would be simply miraculous!

The best thing you could do would be to get a FSM supplement for the 'vert. It has some great information about the build of the vehicle.. the supplemental strengthening and bracing, etc...

What exactly are you after.. why do you want the pics?

I've talked to ASC in the past before, and they're VERY tight lipped about the vert project for the 240. AZHitman has talked to one of the team members who helped design the vert, but i don't recall how much information he got from the man.

To be perfectly honest, ASC can't even supply me info with production figures or places to order some of the vert specific parts (easy stuff like the rubber insulator on the rear black molding), I know they're not going to provide pre-prod phtos.

I'm assuming everyone wants to see the original cars before they got their top chopped. I'm interested in seeing how they did the whole process...but so much for that.

I've heard that they chopped the roof off of leftover 93 coupes for 94 verts. As far as I know, Nissan didn't produce any new 240s for 94. So I thought my car was brand new 93 coupe with complete windshield on front and back before it was sent to ASC.

You're right...they're just leftovers from 93...to my disappointment...

I thought the 94 was like the super rare of em all...got real happy about that for some reason...did some research and realized that's just a technicality.

Remember that verts were NOT just leftover 93's.

The convertible was built in 92, 93 and 94.

People get confused, since the ONLY 240 available in 94 was the vert.

THe 94's were leftover 93's. But ALL verts started life as either 92 or 93 loaded coupes, with everything on them. The removed usable parts were shipped back to Nissan.

The vert was also pricey: Mine was $22K new.

I wish they made optional hardtop with those chopped roof. That would have been awsome. I know it'll be heavier with hardtop on, but good for winter season.
