Hey guys, I'm planning to get the Origin Type II hood, hoping that it might solve my VQ35 hood clearance issues. I need to know how much taller the center "cowl" is in comparison to the side of the hood. Just want to make sure it'll clear before blowin' $600 on a hood. Also, is there any skeleton on the underside of the hood? If so, can anybody post pics? Thanks guys! NICOROCKS! :mike

IIRC, it's not higher, despite outward appearances.

I lowered the engine in the cradle (my intake and TB was hitting the hood). My turbocharger housing STILL comes very close to my Origin II hood (got a nice burn mark to prove it, lol).

Noooooo! That sucks quite alot. What do you mean you lowered it in the cradle? I have no problem bustin' out the welders and grinders and torches to make it all fit right! Thanks for the info AZ! Where you having clearance issues on a VQ swap? Or another motor setup?

He was probably referring to the custom engine mounts he made, which makes the engine sit lower.
