Hey guys, Today I placed an order for some American Racing Speedways for my 2009 Rogue S FWD in Phantom White. I am concerned about the TPS system. The distributor told me that the stock TPS sensors could not be removed. My wheel guy says that they just unscrew and they are good to go. Can someone with wheels please let me know about your experiences with this? Also, if worse comes to worse, can I run the wheels with out the sensors and live with the TPS light on. Does this cause any problems with the traction control system? Lastly, does anyone have any experience with this wheel? If so I would love to see some pics. Thanks for the help guys.

The TPMS sensors can be removed and installed on your new wheels provided your new wheels are compatible. Some wheel designs do not have a properly designed rim to accommodate the TPMS sensor. I could not find any info on American Racings website, so I have no idea if your wheels will be compatible.

Any tire shop worth thier salt should be able to tell you if the sensors will work (or at least offer to try) and be transfer the sensors over without damaging them. The TPMS sensors are designed to be serviced... including removal and installation.

Yes, you can run without the TPMS sensors. I drove 6 months (about 12,000mi) on my winter tires with no TPMS sensors. The ABS, traction control, and stability control were unaffected. All I got was the TPMS warning light. A small piece of black electrical tape applied over the light fixed that problem!

When I re-installed my OEM wheels come spring, the TPMS light went off.
