Just ordered a ton of new parts for the 240 today!

Garrett GT3076r, .63 a/r, BB turbo....can support 550hp!

not my car, but this is the turbo i ordered:

Went with a oddball manifold...it just came out and i havn't found any reviews on it yet, so i guess im gonna be the guinea pig this time around.

Treadstone Top Mount Cast T3 Manifold with 38mm external wastegate flange:

I know it's not gonna make the power of a Full-Race, or Peak Boost manifold, but after my experiences with tubular manifolds cracking and falling apart, i'm willing to sacrifice a few hp for reliability.

Also ordered a Tial 38mm External Wastegate, and a Full-Race external dump kit...should sound wicked being vented into the atmosphere!

And, i bought all the fittings, flanges and bungs to make my own DP, with a V-Band mount at the turbo, and bolt up to my existing 3" DP. Gonna add 2 o2 sensor bungs so i can add a wideband later...have the plug to close it up for now.

I havn't ordered Cams yet, cause i'm still doing my homework on them...i'm trying to find a cam combination that'll aid spool time on the big turbo.

Stay tuned to this thread for all the install pics soon!

It gonna look GUUUUUUD in thar...lol

Treadstone has a BAD rep around here in Florida. They don't check clearances and the casting on their manifolds is sub par. They sell mostly Subaru and Evo stuff. I hope it works out for you, but from the guys I know in the Subbie community, Treadstone might as well be SSAutochrome.

I admit, i had my reservations about getting this manifold...it looks like its runners are way to short, and the compressor housings gonna hit the head....I hope it works out, but for the price, it was hard to say no to a cast TM manifold...

did you pay the extra 100 bucks for the polished compressor housing too? this is funny because my 30r .63 is on a ups truck right now haha on its way to me = )

didn't realize it was an option, but i prob wouldn't have bothered anyway....thats something i can do myself if the urge hits me.....

Second thought, it'll prob never happen...lol...i spent prob 60 hrs polishing my Greddy Intake Manifold from rough cast to mirror.....the horror.....the horror....lol

Are those prices correct on the website? 2900 for the manifold, downpipe, wastegate, and turbo?

Thread-Jackers begone...lol I took a closer look at the manifold, and while not angled awy from the head, it the flange does appear to lean the turbo away from it.....it just might work out allright, as that would give me even more clearence on the BMC...but untill i get my hands on it, and bolt it to the motor, this is all just guess work. I do wish i'd waited a bit until someone else did an install post, but i lack a bit in the patience dept..

lol ya man i think we all lack in the patience department..hey what can we say..when we need more power we need more power lol..all i can say about your manifold is im guessing its about the same as every other log manifold however i guess you could also say that some tubular manis dont perform as well as others (ebay vs peak performance or full race) so we will just have to wait and see i guess..whats your tune going to be by the way? and decided on cams yet?

It will be tuned with my D-Jetro Power FC, i'm hoping to get by on my 650cc D'works injectors for the time being, although i'm sure they'll be tapped out in no time... I'm liking the 264/272 combo, but have starting looking into the JWT S4 cams....call me a dumbass, but are these the ones they list for the Sentra SR?

yeah thats what im referring too...just wanted to confirm they were what everyone was using....look like they're similar to HKS's step 1 264 cams, just a little longer duration.

The Treadstone manifold is a cast replica of the Log Manifold that Enjuku and Enthalpy used to use. They found it was a 60whp/35tq gain from Log to Full Race. Honestly the cast is gonna be even worse then the conventional log manifold because of the rougher insides. Heres the comparison.

Unless you plan on revving out to 8500rpm, go with BC 264 cams. There 12.05mm lift and will give contineous power to 8000rpm.

Here's a dyno sheet supplied to me by a FA member....

GT3076r'd SR with HKS 264/272 (step 2/step 2) combo, with Greddy Plenum, and "good" manifold.

Another point, i've been ignorantly turning my motor to 8400 rpms for 2 years now, without ever pulling the valve cover off to see whats beneath....I plan to invest in some new valve springs, as well as RAS's (if i dont already have them...my swap came with a ton of aftermarket parts)...The ecu that came with my swap has the speed limiter removed, no boost-cut, fuel-cut or anything like that...I do plan to drop the limiter down a bit when i install the PFC (had it for 2 years also...you'd laugh if you saw the dust on the box) I guess i could've dropped the rev limiter down a bit when i installed my Dis-4 box but i never bothered.

To be honest the purchase of this turbo has got me excited about the 240 again...maybe tommorow i'll finally install the PFC and post up some pics. (the IAT sensor, and MAP sensor have been installed for the longest time allready. (D-Jetro PFC) There no way i'd reduce the 4" inlet on the turbo down to use the stock sr maf anyway....

that torque curve doesnt look too good..it starts out making full tq at the right spot but it seems to start dropping way too soon..it starts dropping at 6300rpms..to me a 272 should hold steady to the end of this dyno sheet for sure and to atleast 8000rpm at all times..i did hear that hks does make full tq power the same as other cams but doesnt hold it near as long and thats exactly what im seeing in this dynograph.

cool let us know when you got the turbo in there.. i'm also doing a almost similar setup as you... just waitin for my bov and wastegate to put my GT3076R in my car.. I have the BC 264 cams also... I will post a complete setup when i'm done with dyno results and 1/4 mile

^Thanks man, will do.

Side note -- I did manage to get my Power FC installed today...There was a little confusion as to what ecu pins the IAT sensor wires went to ( D-Jetro PFC ) but it ended up not mattering...the air temp on the commander showed the same with the wires in both positions. I THINK i managed to turn the boost controller function off....i changed the little japnese symbol beside it to what looks kinda like a + symbol.....anyone know if thats right? It would be reallly really really helpful if someone could point me towards an English version of the PFC manual.

Tommorow I plan to DL and try to enter Enthalpys base tune so i can at least make a little boost without fear of killing my motor, till everything else is installed and i can get it tuned...well i guess i've rambled on enough..sorry i didnt get pics, but there's really nothing to look at...maybe tommorow i'll make a custom Commander bracket for the dash, and show where i welded in the IAT sensor bung and stuff....

Manifold came in today....doesnt look as bad as some made it out to be, but it does need some work. Mainly in the port-matching dept...

Pics:

Couple little spots inside that could use some smoothing:

As you can see the turbo flange angles away from the head a good bit...but it looks like it might end up being a pretty tight fit despite it...no way to tell till my turbo gets here from Full-Race.

Used an old exhaust manifold gasket to eyeball the ports...I'm going to have to break out the carbide bits to match these ports to the gasket.

So far it doesn't seem like that bad of a deal...little port work doesnt scare me...my biggest concern is that the turbo clears everything, and thats going to be bugging me till i actually get my order in. Stay tuned...
