Anyone else place an order for one yet? Infiniti hasn't officially announced them yet, but from what I read, Sept. 1 will be when they let out the news, at which time the cars will already be on the way to the dealers. I called up my local dealer, and they said mine should be in the second week of september. I'm hoping thats right!

Sweet! last I heard the G37 sedan was a 2010?

Is the motor 330 or 350 hp?

Is the transmission 5sp or 7sp auto?

What is the curb weight?

I MUST KNOW!

It will be announced 9/1/08, and will be a 2009 model. It is the same motor from the Coupe, 3.7L 330hp V6. Has the new 7sp auto, unless you want stick that is.

Unsure of curb weight.

The "inside info" says it's 320 HP, and a 7AT. I'm willing to bet that the 10 HP is a loss on paper only designed to give the coupe a HP advantage. Otherwise, who would pay more for a car with half as many doors?

I'm going to have to hit up my dealer for a test drive in september to see what the 7 speed feels like. Wonder what the MPG will be.

The 7 spd auto would be NICE, keeps the motor in the power band more and could give better gas mileage.

Hopefully its a completely different transmission with closer ratios not just a computer trick on the current 5spd.

The 545 rfe 5spd automatic in the Hemi ram is EXACTLY the same transmission as the 45rfe in the 4.7 Ram, Dakota and was originally designed for the Jeep Cherokee back in the late 90's :-( You can literly take a 4sp transmission out of a jeep and put it in a Ram and it becomes a 5spd

320 hp isn't enough to get me to trade my 306 hp 07 sedan.... If the Fujita intake does what it advertises I already have 316 hp.

I think that's a mistake everybody makes when they add a mod. Most mods don't add power, most merely replace some of the power that's lost when the engine is put in the car in driving form. IE. when they dynoed the engine for the 306, the engine was out of the car without intake and exhaust restrictions and temperature controlled. It also didn't have a rear end eating up a chunk of power. That's why rear wheel HP isn't near published HP - parasitic losses.

It used to be that you could change heads and cams and get more HP, but that isn't the case on the G. The only mods that I know of that add HP to the Gs engines(above the 306) are super charging or turbo mods.

Fujita has a dyno chart showing a 10 rwhp gain from their set up...

dyno's are useless for anything but tuning imo

Congrats on your new ride. Let us know what you think when you put your hands on her. Expecting some pics too.

I think the self healing paint is good on the top of the 7 speed and few more hp.

I'll testdrive one as soon as they come in.

I'd trade in for a 350 hp motor!!!

320 hp vs 306 isn't enough to have me start a new loan. I'm also curious about the curb weight! My Journey sedan with nothing on it weighs right around 3500 lbs.

Good Choice

PSSSHHH.... Guys we trained him right lol

really that was the best choice!

When you get older and have tamed your car and have some years of driving under you belt... well then it is a little different.

Be safe

According to Wiki....

"G37 sedan was unveiled in Geneva Motor Show for the European market.[4]. It features the same basic engine as the G37 coupe, but engine power was reduced to 306 hp and 258 ft-lb of torque.[5]"

same hp and less torque? peak torque better be available at idle and be a flat line up to 7800 rpm

Jeff that's only for the Europian market. They had to de tune it.
