Im guessing thats from experience? It comes with silencers so wouldnt that reduce the noise level pretty good? It performes good thought right? I like the dual tip style, but I heard the N1 dual is really loud and I kind of like the way the Greddy DD looks, but I kindof wanted something thats as quiet as possible. I mean how big of a noise level difference is there between the DD and lets say the apexi N1 single?

Yeah I've heard them in action before. I was at a local shop and they were showing them off to me. The silencers do make it quieter to normal, but then there's not too much of a point to use the exhaust then as it'll change the effective open diameter, probably close to stock. The N1 duals aren't too loud. They've got a deep tone at low RPM, but otherwise streetable compared to the DD and the Spec D. Just that people don't seem to like them for the weight and want something a bit more showy. In terms of what's quieter, I'd probably have to say the N1 dual. I didn't get them side by side, but from what I can remember, that was the case.

The Spec D like most exhausts are stealable because of the rubber hangers. The rubber hangers can be cut off with razor blades as you cut the hanger where the exhaust's metal hangers poke into. Then there are just two bolts that can be reached from the side if you try to slide in from under the car from the rear. They can steal the muffler section, not the full catback.

The 2" drop can be an issue if you're not careful about the way you go up the ramp. I usually go up from my passenger side front to the driver side front, and continue to do that kind of crab walk up a steet incline or decline.

The experience that I had when I put the silencer in my exhaust is that it was very close to stock, in terms of flow characteristics. So much so, that I'd say there's no point in buying a 3 inch exhaust, if you're just going to silence it.

enjuku quoted me 600 for the spec d. There is not one source in the us that can get them directly now. they're all through middlemen in Japan. the DD is easier to get as there's still stock in the US. Also don't let the cost of the N1 fool you, it's a single long 9 foot long box. The shipping will be very expensive.

well im about an hour and a half away from enjuku so shipping isnt really the issue. if u didnt have to worry about shipping, would you have chose the spec d or the apexi?

The GP is very loud. I cannot stress that enough. If it were between the two, I would go GP again though. I got used to the sound and yes, it's an excellent exhaust that not many people have. However, if it's going to be a price difference of over 100, I would go with the N1 just because of the price point. If there were other options, I'd also have a look around at the HKS for something quieter, but also have a look at the JIC if you're looking for something with excellent build quality that is also very light. However, with the JIC, have everything welded together when it's assembled and have a muffler shop do the welding so that it can't be stolen like the GP.
