Ok so I ordered an exhaust online, but im not really sure where to get it installed other than one of the local muffler shops like midas...or this guy on a local car forum said he would put it on for $100 but its just at his house. He does work at a nissan dealership though and does all his own work on his 300zx which looks nice.

What do you guys think?

I say that if you have the tools for it and maybe some jack stands and a jack, you could do it yourself! If not, then I'd take your nissan dealer friend up on his offer. That way you can at least help out with it and see how it works if you're a hands on type person. When I finally break down and get the exhuast, I'm definately going to do it at home (Hopefully with the help of Gwoods...) and I'm certainly no mechanic. I think it's a pretty straight forward bolt on, so you shouldn't have any problems.

Just my $.02

How much on average do they (Muffler shops or dealers) charge on average for a full catback installation?

Shouldn't be more than $150. Should actually be less considering it will take an hour.

Cool thanks for the responses guys...Yea I think I will take that guy up on his offer since its a pretty simple installation. I dont have the tools myself to do it, but do like the idea of being there and helping him so that I can see whats going on and learn from it and help out.

I'd say do it yourself (as long as you have a lift and some jack stands).

Prepare the bolts you're taking off with PB blaster or WD40, and let it sit for 15 min. Then get to work. It won't take you very long if you're willing to do it. Mine took me 45 min.

Where I'm from they salt the roads, and my Y pipe to the rear section was rusted as all sin...

I was unable to complete the install myself, although if I had "MY" tools, I would've been done in 2 hours.
