Hello to all!

After receiving word from my insurance company, that my 2001 Acura 3.2TL was totalled ir was time to search for a new vehicle. As you might have guessed, I was very interested in the 04 TL. After test driving it, my impressions on it have changed. The cars transmission felt slower than my 01. Eventhough the new 04 has 45 more hp. than my 01, I can honestly conclude that my 01 felt peppier than the new 04. From what I hear, the Type-S owners over at Acura-Tl.com, have formed the same impressions as there cars having even more hp than mine since I had the regular 3.2TL (225hp vs. 260 for the type-s). Then the issue in price came and the delaership wasn't willing to budge much. The best they could do was $1,500 below MSRP which is unsatisfactory as this would be my second Acura purchase from them. I later drove the 2004 Honda Accord EX V6 and felt that it drove better than the 2004 TL and drove more like my 01 TL. The MSRP on the Accord was $26,890 and I could have drove the car home for $24,800, on the road, this including tax and tags. I later drove the 2004 G35 and liked the vehicle as well. After going back and forth between the three delaerships in my area, I was able to negotiate on the price I wanted. Yesterday, I put down a $500 deposit on a 04 graphite sedan with willow cloth. The car will end up costing me $27,700 on the road. This includes tax, tags, and registration. I certainaly feel that this was a good deal since the other two delaerships were $1000 away from this price and couldn't come any closer. I'm curious if there are any other people on this board with a G35 base sedan. I'd also like to hear your opinions on the deal and what you've payed for your cars, on the road. Please include the type of options that you have as well. I'm certainaly glad about my new purchase, but at the same time, a little upset that my Acura was totalled. I was actually looking into the 2003 Type-S left overs and found a few in my surrounding states. However, the price is also higher as they want $28,500 plus tax, tags, and destination. Beacuase of all this, I was pretty much down to two cars; 04 Accord EX V6 and the 04 Infiniti G35 w/ cloth. I could have considered the Maxima which is a great car, but it seems a little too bulky for my tastes. Once again, hello to all and hope we share more thoughts and insights in the future on our vehicles.

Welcome Spartus. I think you made a great purchase and will be very happy with G sedan. It sounds like you got a pretty good deal too, $27,700 sounds pretty decent. I paid a bit more than that for my coupe. Take a couple pictures for us and post em up. Again congrats and welcome.

Spartus,

Welcome to NICO!

What a great price on a great car!I especialy like the diamond graphite choice.Often getting the base of a given car is a great deal!As far as I know we dont have any other base members yet ( or do we folks? correct me if we do).Because of this your car is kinda rare and I would love to see you post some pics to our members ride section when you get the car.

Especially extensive pics of the interior. We host these on our own server, a link is on bottom of this post in my signature block.

Again welcome hope you enjoy our company.

Fred...:)

Well done.

You got a solid deal. Keep in mind the base model has the same engine but weighs less - Probably the fastest of the bunch!

Doh!

"Fastest UNMODIFIED coupe..." :D

BTW, anyone know what the weight difference is between a fully loaded Coupe and a stripped base model?

That shouldn't make too much difference in performance.

Nope. That little bit of weight difference can be made up just with the drivers. Skinny driver vs. heavy driver.
