I saw at Jackson Racing that their medium Eaton Supercharger was used in a Miata. The configuration was similar to the Z-Engineering kit, the charger goes over the exhaust side and no other special mods were needed to obtain a 40% increase in horsepower.

This is yet another option to supercharge the 240SX, probably easier with a header, more space available.

Somebody do it!

ive seen the eaton unit from the GM 3.8 (m90 i think) grafted to a 3.0 chrysler v6 once , then that whole engine was stuffed into a 95 neon ...here is the site.... http://v6neon.homestead.com/V6SRT.html

weird huh? , gives that turbo neon thread some new life

im wondering if the jackson raceing kit for the miata would fit the 240s head with some minor mods , it looked like a close deal on my sr20 ..first things first is to see what side the intake manifold is on each car if i remeber right there boath on the pasenger side , but its been 5 years since ive seen a 240 in person and7 since ive seen a miatas engine, now i think the bower sits on a cast adapter that bolts to the blower and the other end bolts to the head , it might be as simple as haveing a machine shop fab up a new adapter to go from the blower to the head and fashioning a some kind of braceing system , ive never done this kinda stuff yet but theres some ideas on general stuff that doesnt include beatter injectors and all that other crap ...

id rather see that paxton run to a aftercooler and then on to the engine , or the setup on a Tbird S/C ,where the aftercooler is plumed in after that eaton roots blower

but for absolte badassedness would be a turbo fed blower like on the detroit 8v92tta's we have at work , but the heat from comperssing that air twice (once thru that hot turbo too) would be very hard to scrub off , air would be so damn hot that when the injector thought about sraying fuel it would combust , works well in a diesl but a aluminum headed gas engine i would have no hope for ....man im babbleing ....i need to stop drinking and surfing the forums ...

is there any big number N/A KAs out there? like perhaps a 11.5:1 KA with bigger bore to boot? i hear all day abotu turboed KAs and sr swaps ...but no blown or N/A KAs in the 275 hp range?

Import Tuner put a turbo on a Miata that took the HP from 110 to 226!It was a long time ago, and I can't remember what kind of turbo it was tho... maybe APEX'i...

Insane idea, but would it fit? I remeber seeing an FC project with a 20b and it looked like it was a ***** to put it. In order for the setup to work, he had to use a ford T5 transmission, and modify the crossmember to reuse the original 20B engine mounts and I'm probably wrong about this (someone please correct me if I am), but it just looks to me like the FC's engine bay is bigger than the miata's. But still, if they could do that, man, I would have to steal that thing.

The Jackson unit for the Miata, goes attached to the exhaust side of the head, but just attached; no new plenum or head assembly.

Then a special attachment goes on the output top of the Eaton blower, which connects to the induction tube, very simple. Then an air filter and hose is attached to the rear inlet of the blower, again simple. Obviously some things have to be repositioned, but the layout is quite clean, like factory. Check it out at http://www.jacksonracing.com

The Z-Engineering centrifugal unit, needs a bracket and be attached also by the exhaust side of the engine, then the air filter goes directly attached to the rear inlet of the unit, just over the header. Simple and clean, check it at http://www.z-engineeringusa.com. Here I would prefer Powerdyne with the same setup.

why go with the miata charger by jackson racing why not look into TRD's supercharger they use on the 2.4L tacos that would make more since and that engine seems to be setup a lot like ours

TRD's supercharger is manufactured by the same people that makes the one for Jackson Racing and for Neuspeed. It's just an Eaton blower made to custom specs. The Jackson advantage is that it's designed for close quarters. Neuspeed design is for Audi/VW and includes the manifold.

It would be ideal for someone to design this charger with an integrated manifold for the 240SX, but it would be very expensive and the excelent stock manifold would be lost.
