My wife fried the radio on our 2005 Quest by hooking up jumper cables wrong. Now the radio simply does not work, no power. I've checked all fuses and no dice (unless there's a relay controlling it that I didn't check?).

So I want to get her a new head unit. What are my options? Not looking to trick it out, just a basic unit that will allow hookup of mp3 player/phone, play a cd and radio.

How would it be made to fit in the funky dash unit? Pics would be great if someone has done something like this.

There aren't many (if any) option for the 2005 Quest. I contacted Crutchfield about a year ago to see if they carried an unit that was compatible with my 2004 Quest. NO dice! I just purchased a re-furbished unit off E-Bay for $249. I received a $70 refund for sending my unit to them. The unit works great. I believe it comes with a one year warranty.

You may want to keep an eye on ebay for part-out radios. Otherwise you could contact http://www.shortcircuitrepair.com/ as they can repair lots of Nissan products. They are also a forum sponsor who has a great reputation.
