Alright, I've had my car for 270 miles and i'm itching to put a new system in it. I figure i'd go to a local muffler shop and get a quote on how much a cat back would be if I brought my own muffler instead of buying a pre-fabbed one that won't fit my sedan. Anyways...

I really like the n1 styled mufflers and I was thinking of something like this

or this

I could also go with a magnaflow or one of those oval ones but I'm not really into those =\. One of these runs for like 70$ shipped from ebay so I figure if it doesn't fit for some reason I don't lose too much out of it.

Any comments/suggestions? (be gentle... )

Hey bud, I am not known for hating on this thread. Look at my previous posts, all I want to accomplish is a better environment for us Versa Owners.

IMO. Putting a muffler and custom cat back is perfectly fine in my eyes because you can do whatever you want. But trust me, the only difference you are going to notice is a sound increase and thats about it. I mean if your going to go through a couple hundred dollars for a system that is pretty much usless, then I would suggest keeping that money and getting a CAI, Strut Tower Bar or Altezza Tail lights. When you install the CAI, you will know what I am talking about when I say you dont need a muffler!! Trust me bud, and I can pretty much speak for everyone in this forum that when you go WOT, the Intake sounds WAYYY better than a fart can!! Out!

Yeah sounds pretty much what I'm going for =p. I sent an email asking bob from versaspeed if the cai's would fit the 09 and he sent out some tells to fujita and aem. They replied back that they weren't sure and they couldn't tell unless they got an 09 in the shop and that aem probably won't make one because there's not a big market for it.

I'm 18 and I'm finishing my senior year before I head off to the air force in august so right now I'm trying to fight through the boredom of going to school and work with some fun mods =).

Cai was my first decision, but seeing as how they don't make one for my car I didn't feel like buying one from versaspeed for the 07 hatch and seeing if it fitted. If one ever comes out trust me I'm getting it, but for now my options are limited

I could be completely talking out of my arse here but I don't believe the front of the Sedan differs from the hatch.

And Knightro2, I feel the same way. I think the front ends are exactly the same in design. But I wonder why the header doesnt fit from the hatch and sedan, must be issues with the firewall or something around that area.

Quote »Well, I got information from both AEM and Fujita about CAI's for the 1.6.

AEM does not know if it will fit since they have not had a 1.6 to test but at this time they do not have plans to produce one for the 1.6. I think this is because of the down economy and all these companies are just focusing on the big sellers and unfortunately the Versa has not been a big after market seller so far.

Fujita is a little different, they said they are waiting to get a 1.6 in to see what the difference's are if any and they would let me know if anything happens but they did not know when that would be.[/quote]Waiting on someone to take a 1.6L to them lol. He thinks there shouldn't be a problem with it but he wants to make sure so I don't waste my money trying to put one on.

AEM's Versa intake was designed for the '07. I took a chance and it fit perfect on my '08 hatch. If everything under the hood is relatively unchanged then I don't see why it shouldn't fit.

The question isn't if it will fit an '09 versus an '08 or '07. It is if it will fit a sedan.

Bought the one in the first picture $54.20 shipped. Should be here by maybe Monday but if not then definitely Thursday, then I'll get it thrown onto a new catback system. Then later on I might just break down and buy one of the cai's to see if it will fit. I'm sure I could work out a deal with Bob to a partial refund if it doesn't fit. I'm excited

I clear the area the oil well is going to be put, ripping the earth out, creating stable sites. Also build roads and pipeline.

Went to meineke and got my custom cat back installed. It sounds like a WRX on steroids. Very deep and aggressive.

I don't have a digital camera, much less a video recorder lol. I'll try and find one though.
