I saw in breadbox's thread someone say that the later model hardbody engines fit right into the z24. Is that same for the Z22 models? Id heard they wouldnt fit but that was just from local mechanic not a datsun/nissan expert.

i'm no expert on the z22... a KA motor will most likely need a new tranny with it as well so you'll have to see if that means a new driveshaft

i know for the z24 based tranny you just need the KA motor and tranny...

From research, the z22 and z24 bolt patterns for the tranny are different. You will need to source the tranny and drive shaft if you are going with the 24. the z22 works with the L and J series engines and the z24 works with the KA series.

z22 cranks are good for making a stroker out of an L20B. An L22B!
