Optional tire sizes for 2001 QX4?

I'm pleased to see this sub-forum specifically for tire/undercarriage discussion. This is a first post for me so please have empathy for this newbie.

The tires on my QX4 are Michelin LTX (M/S), size P24565R17. I didn't see anything for sale in Tire Rack's site, but did see a list of optional sizes. The problem I'm having with my tires is that my vehicle "wanders" on the highway -- even in ideal weather conditions. It's an uneasy feeling that's difficult to articulate, but it almost feels like one front tire has very low air pressure. Has anyone had similar experiences?

Does anyone have experience using lower-profile, wider-footprint tires on stock wheels with good results? Also, I live in Seattle so I need something with the best wet-weather traction and would work well in occassional snow. If so, what sizes and brands would you recommend? A photo of my stock (I think?) chrome wheels is attached.
