Has anyone installed the optional Black Sport Grill? What do you think of it? Any Pictures? I've been thinking about putting one on my M35.

Thanks

Where did you find it? I'm curious because I think I might have it on my car.

If you go out to the InfinitiUSA website and go to accessories under "Ownership" they have a list of aftermarket accessories. Listed there is a "Midnight Black Grill" for $320 that says "Enhances sport, aggressive appearance". No picture. I've also seen it in the catalog for Infiniti Parts USA - also without a picture.

Mine has a smoke type appearance - is that stock? Reason I'm asking is because it is flaking off at one point and i want that to be covered under warranty.

I believe that is stock. My 2004 G35 Sport Coupe had a smoke appearance to the grill... I was unaware that it could "peel" though. Its just a chrome finish over plastic isn't it?

This optional grill is supposed to be midnight black though, not smoke color.

Black would go well if you smoked out everything...but I have a white car and I think that black would be too much contrast.

The black grille has the bars painted black and the emblem is chrome. Makes the emblem looks as if its floating. Kinda cool but I like the 08 grilles much better. Its cheaper here:http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...ories

You can remove yours easy take off emblem and paint it much cheaper also. Dont know if you can powder coat plastic but that would be even cheaper.

Can you just put in the 08 grille in 06 M35? Is it a direct replacement?

If you dont want to buy the $320 black grille heres another option for you. Just had a friend black out what I didnt like about the grille with durable black vinyl tape meant for car use. No clue what it would look like on other color cars.

Not exactly....it fits, but it looks a little off. Some like it, some don't.

What is not exactly? The 08 grill actually bows out more in the front which doesn't quite fit the 06-07 bumper.

Pretty much. From what Ive read just a couple of mounting studs have to be cut off. Im gonna get a 08 for sure but I would love to do something to the bumper grille also but only billets are available and they dont fit this car well for the look.

Regarding Mesh grills for 2006/2007 M35Hey New2Import,Thanks for the tip, I called the guys at Tiarra Luxury Grills, they are willing to make what is called a "one off grill" for a person that would bring their 2006/2007 M35 into their shop in Las Vegas. They would need a whole day to make a Jig for the template. I would chip in for the cost and the second one for myself. They did not have cost associated with this at the time of call, but we get some interest going? How about it? Anyone near LV?
