Anyone know where I can get one? I live in the US north of Chicago... I don't feel like driving to Mitsuwa just to pick up a magazine..

Yes, it is very expensive. 9$ just for one. All that money could be put towards your car. Plus, you have to be able to read Japanese kanji or w/e you call it. Just get one a year so you can say that you have one. Option 2 is a magazine/video series that covers drifting and some JGTC (Japanese Grand Touring Championship) races. JDM magazine haha.

Or you can call the phone number listed in the subscription info a couple pages inside the front cover of one of the magazines.

Here...I got one laying here...

It's +81-03-3364-3811.

But just telling you know, $130/year doesn't seem all that bad. I doubt it's any cheaper through the magazine company. Cover price is ¥500. ¥500 is $4.71. You figure you save about 50% with a subscription, so that's $2.36. Figure about $10 per magazine to ship. That's $12.36. Now multiply that by 12 months, and you get $148.32.
