For my stock stealies, I was told to run 215/55-15.

But whats an optimal tires size for SE alloys? Daily driving with some Tein Basic coilovers and only some ES tie rod bushings...

205/(60, 55, or 50)/15 is the biggest I would go. OEM option (standard for the Vert) were 205/60/15. I personally run Falken Azenis Sports in 205/50/15 and I LOVE them. As a daily tire, they have tremendous grip (except in the wet, but I have not had any real trouble unless I get TOO boost happy) and when they are cold they can be a bit easy to kcik loose. But on the whole, even with my little CA at 9psi and a few things here and there, I am very very very happy!

205/50/15 is too short of a sidewall.

I ran 205/55/16 on my s14 se's.

I have had no probelsm. Stiff short sidewall = no flex:) The only real downside is the speedo is off by about 3.5 MPH at 70 (like it says 70, but I'm really going 66.5)

Not to be rude chunki, but when Alan and Chet both agree that 50 sidewall is just fine, I think I am going to listen to them more than someone else.

Well, I dont think I have to worry about boost :( . Ok, so 205/50/x is alright?

Yeah. That is the only size that you can get Flaken Azenis Sports in for our (15"x6") wheels. I ahve 15"x6.5" so still works.

no offense rico, but Chet even said that a 55 series sidewall is better. 50 series is fine on a 16" wheel.

Well, I am happy, and have no problems. I would love to ahve gotten 60 sidewall, but too bad Falken dosen't do custom tires, and I am a fan of 15s. Guess we just have to agree to disagree:)

If you have no drop, a 50-series will look like a donut spare.

Also, if you DO have a drop, a 50-series on a drop could be pretty darn harsh.

(and please ignore some of my early posts- I was not thinkin gabout how a rwd vehicle differs from a fwd vehicle in tire selection)

I have Nismo S-Tunes, so the ride is more harsh with my Falkens on than with my 60 sidewall Continental drift tires (195/60/15). But yes, a 50 series looks sofa-king-wee-todd-it with stock ride height. It even negates any loss of wheel gap that the modest drop the S-Tunes gave me :( But grip is better than looks anyway:)

So after reading both of those, its my understanding that 205/55 is the best way to go. I have Tein basics, but I probably wont "slam" the car.

I also need some good tires for JUST daily driving. Im getting some recommendations on getting some falken ziex's.

So 205/55/15 falken ziex's would get the job done?
