Car: 2006 G35 Coupe

Post

Hey guys whats going on?

I bought a 2006 G35 Coupe last year and moved to Dallas Texas with it, I have recently moved back to New England.

I am looking for opinions/ past experiences on how snow tires work on the coupes? if you have tried it what you would recommend for snow tires?

I am debating whether or not to buy a beater car for the few months winter is here and store my baby or if the snow isnt a problem with the proper tires??

Please help Thanks

Blizzaks Blizzaks Blizzaks!

Last year was a good winter in Jersey. I drove 140 miles every day minimum and couldn't afford to be stuck in snow. Got me a set of these: http://www.tirerack.com/tires/...LM-22

I couldn't recommend them enough. Every time it snowed, my car got plowed in on the street. Street parking sucks enough, but with snow it's terrible. You only get about 5 inches in front and back if you're lucky before you slam into the next car. Throw a manual trans in the mix and you've got an awkward situation as your neighbors watch you repeatedly slam into their cars and stall.

Once I got the Blizzaks, I watched All-wheel-drive cars do that dance as I laughed and pulled right out of my spot.

They are amazing in snow/rain. Even on the highway at 70 during a blizzard, they didn't slip. They also aren't as loud as you'd think for snow tires. Not bad at high speed either. With dry highways, I would drive over 90 with them on.

I had Tirerack.com mount them on their cheapest set of 17" rims. Balanced and shipped cost about $1200. Worth every penny if you want to keep your G on the road.
