I really want a streetable performance tire for my stock rims. I want to run 205/55/15 and I am debating on the Falkein Azeins. I am also looking at Yokohama ES100. ANy suggestions? Also, because no local store carries these, I am going to have to have them mounted. How much will this cost?

Tire rack has preferred tire service specialists all over the US, and I think the summary for each facility includes typical mounting prices. By crossindexing that list with the Hunter 9700 list, you should find someone who can do the whole shebang if you want to pay for it.

I have not driven on the Falken tires but I have tested the AVS ES100 and thought it was very good. Very stable in both the wet and dry and for as good of a performer as it is on the track, it has very good road manners and noise level.

Azenis can't be beat in terms of dry weather traction... they simply put alot of tread down due to their void ratio. However this means they have a tendency to hydroplane badly... which is the truth, especially in standing water.

The Azenis are truely the best tire for the money in my opinion for performance. Contrary to popular belief you can actually get alot of wear out of them due to their ability to cope with heat properly. I had a set of the 215/45/16 and I was amazed at the amount of tread remaining after me driving on them for 8 months. And anyone who has riddin with me knows I don't drive lightly.

Well, my buddy ahs the ES100s on his 230rwhp S13 and he loves em and they still have a lot of tread. I do worry about the Azeins and water, tho. They are so close in price, it is going to be a tough decesion!

Oh yeah, I found a local place that will mount and balance each tire for $7;)
