OK, so a while back, Fonzie did a BMW in Red Rum Pearl video and I remember liking the finish and the colour. After our match at the beach today, a guy was talking with Fetucini and I about rugby, etc. As we walked with this guy back to my car, he pointed over at his car and it was the BMW in that video. Turns out he works with Fonz and told me my car would look 'sick' in that same shade. Now, I'm semi-seriously considering it. After you watch the video, tell me what you think of this idea please.

On my car, this is how I would have it done:
1) keep the black roof, keep the front lower grille insert area black, dipping the main bumper only in red.
2) leave the front grille in black and leave all the chrome trim untouched on the whole car.

What are your thoughts?

On the down-ish side, dips are not like clear coat finishes, but they do have a glossy finish when you add the pearls. I like the idea of never ever having to wax or polish the car again, but I'm not sure I won't miss the shiny black body.

Very interesting color -

I think you have to really like the color to dip your whole car in it. It kinda looks pink at times, but the pearls prolly change shades in different light.

On the up side, if you get tired of it....you just peel it off!!

Keep the trim chrome, you can always plasti dip it black if you don't like that look.
Keep the roof black

Hey, if YOU like it - go for it.
Not my cup of tea, but I am intrigued about the matte/shiny not glossy look - although I sense this trend may have a limited time in the limelight.

It's different. I don't know if I like or dislike it, and for that reason I go with no. But if you like it, and it makes your M stand out from everyone else's, go for it I guess.

well the great thing about plasti-dip is when you decide you don't like it anymore, you just peel it off.

Thanks mates to those of you who took the time to think on this idea! I value your input.
After chucking this idea into my brain and allowing it to stew for a few days, I decided against the idea. Although the Red Rum Pearl looks absolutely staggering on a small car like the BM3, I decided my M is too large for such a colour on so much surface area. I also fear the body will lose it's muscular stance with such a light shade of red.
If Fonzie comes up with a more sporty and muscular colour like maybe an "Arrest-Me Red Pearl", I will reconsider.
The shade of red on the Q50 Rogue would make a great pearl finish for larger cars.
Thanks again for your time!
