A point well taken! I totally overlooked the user's location when I recommended the SZ50EP. This is an awesome rain tire, but does not do well in snow, apparently (I do not have personal experience.)
I plan to try out the Pilot Sport A/S in the future on my M45 to see if they compare well to the SZ50EP for wet weather behavior and super-quietness. They (the Pilot Sports) are much more expensive, of course. I cannot go with my first choice - the SZ50EP - since they are being phased out of production right now and are not available in a 245/45-18 size anyway (sigh!).
