Opinions on Tint

Just picked up a new black G37 yesterday and want to tint it soon. I had 20% on my white coupe that I traded in and loved it. My husband thought maybe 35 would be dark enough on the new black car but, I'm leaning toward the 20%.

I see lots of pics on the forum but, many don't list their percentage.

Pictures or opinions??

Just don't get it so dark that you can't see good out of it at night. I don't know if you are like me, but I can't see worth a #^*$* at night!

I'm going to get mine done when I can afford to get a new package tray too. I added my spoiler onto my car so I have the light in the back window too. I don't want tint around that light.

You may check the maximum for your state if it is listed. One thing to keep in mind are airports. Many have strict rules about tinted windows in the pickup areas and even parking areas. If you do a lot of pickups this is something to consider.

I believe mine are 20% but from what I see on another poster's car in this thread maybe even darker.

Just got mine done almost a month ago. I got 35% all around and I really like it. It's true if you get it too dark, u can't see at night. First time I got my car tinted and Im still getting used to it at night. Also, where I got mine done, he recommended 35%.

Actually re-reading how tinting is measured, mine are probably 35% based on what I had asked when it was applied prior to delivery.

In Washington State the maximum is 35% with nothing on the windshield except the top 6 inches. It appears that in California it is 70% on the drivers window (not sure on the rest). In New Mexico it appears that you can have 20%. My Jeep came with a very heavy tint in the cargo area and a much lighter tint in the passenger area. This is a little confusing since this was a factory job and from what I read locally the back can be heavily tinted if a 'heavy' SUV (which is defined as being on a truck chassis) versus a 'light' SUV which follows the rules for cars.

That looks close to what my Jeep was, the Jeep may have been a little darker yet on the very rear side windows.

I like the mixed look on this car.

I kept it state legal which is why I have the mixed tint. The last car I had tinted was 20% all around and did a good job although could be somewhat annoying on really dark nights.

I need to tint mine. Anyone had issues with the tint releasing from where the window does the auto seal on the coupe when closing the door?

35% is about as dark as I'd go. As I get older, I don't see as well at night. And the 20% on my last car was too dark for night driving if there were no street lights.

I had 20% on my white coupe I just traded in. I didn't have any trouble really with night driving.
