So, I've been keeping an eye out for rims that look like the GT-R's test rims. So,

The closest I found were not close enough, but I did saw a similarity with the G35 18 OEM Stocks:

Here's the photoshop of what I would like to do by adding those lines:

I'm enoying it. I don't have the rims yet, but I'm wondering how or what materials to use to apply those lines, and if anyone else knows and likes the small mod? :p

For me, I don't want anything so flashy, and keeping things conservative. The rims I seem to look at on tirerack and wheelsnext can be pretty out of this world to not be too consistent with the body.

Ha yea, I wonder if there's any professional paints out there.

Or maybe carbon vinyl will fit it or vinyl?

I can see thee options

1. Paint -easiest, cheapest, but might not last

2. Anodize - I'm 99% sure you can mask off area you don't want anodized. any issue is that I've never heard much abound anodizing rims, might be a structural issue(?). should run about $150-200 ($300 tops for all four), If my limited anodizing experience is any gauge.

3. Powdercoat - not sure if powerdercoating can be masked(?). seems pricing can vary (caliper seem to run anywere from $150-450)

i was gonna mention vinyl but if ur wheels are spinning, the vinyl will be exposed to the wind and eventually it will start to peel off

Anodizing sounds like a great technique. I just wiki'd it.

So vinyl would be a no. The last resort would be masking and painiting.

I'm going to avoid powdering.

Maybe Johnny_d was talking about how the wheel is going to be in motion, which would affect the adhesion lifespan of the vinyl, unless 2ml can endure it?

vinyl is cheap... you can have them cut 100 strips that size n strap em on when they fall off...
