2010 Ford SHO

i really like the look and some of its features that the G does not have.

BLIS® (Blind Spot Information System)

heated and cooled seats and rear window visor.

I think it is great.... And i think that Ford is doing some great things.

I hope that puts them back on the streets like they were years ago.

But with that said I don't think you will ever see me driving one. I am not a fan of fords nor do want a very common car.

I think most of us here would agree!

It does have great performance and a nice price tag. but i assume that very few will buy the SHO

+1.

Even the guy that designed BLIS admits that you don't need it if you know how to set your mirrors up.

articlle above wrote: So, what is the point of a system like BLIS? In an interview, Steve Kozak, Ford’s chief safety engineer, acknowledged that side mirrors can be set to eliminate the blind zone. But most drivers don’t adjust their mirrors that way so BLIS is a valuable safety aid, he said.
And the thing weights like 4300 pounds. It's fat. Put it on a diet, seriously.

Its a down market Volvo S80.FWIW - I have an S80 V8 with the Yamaha 4.4L engine that was "borrowed" from the original Gen 1 SHO. They should have used the V8 and not the TT 6 cyl.

ya but thats their whole point of the setup heyy look its a V6 that beats V8s or whatever. if you watch the videos of the SHO vs the audi or w.e those are are all slow as ballz whats to compare it to. i mean i really like the look but its still a ford and still 6.5 sec 0-60. all for 40K im all set with that they hit on a lot of things but missed on a lot more.

Ford SHO-OFFjk

A taurus decked out...is still a taurus. I don't care too much for the SHO-OFF. Very few people will buy a taurus for $37k (starting price). Ford has made a big mistake.

I love it from A to Z. I think it is going to be a wicked car. I am on my 3rd Ford and they were all reliable. First was an Escort and put 200000km in it only changed wheel bearing once and changed oil every 10000km. No other changes at all. Second was Focus. No issue at all with 60000km when traded in for a newer one. Only issue I had with the new is the seat heater elemen needed to be replaced. so far 20000km in it. So nearly 300000km in the 3 and no real issue.

Ford going to get better and better for the next few months/year. They will bring the Fiest here also which would be better equiped than any other in the same segment with around 40mpg. They will bring the Ford Focus from Europe. Which I think should of been done 6 years ago. I think even the Fusion is a good car and well equiped. The new engines from Ford will be top of the line.

SHO with a $500 mod will leave the G in the dust. No question about it. TT so easy to up the numbers. And it will have more tech goodies than the G.

I would have no problem to switch to it.

I agree that most G owners like the performance and looks but it's the fact that it is less common really makes the G feel special. That's one of the main reasons I didn't buy a BMW. Too many on the streets around me.

The Taurus is impressive but I don't think that people that can afford it will buy one because at that price it is in the same market(not class) as the G, TL, IS, and even the 328.

If it were in the 29K-32K range it would kick but.

My hubby is on his 2nd Ford truck. Never thought we would own a Ford, but the first one was so good, we got another. I think it had 120k miles on it when we traded it. I really can't think of anything we every replaced. Did a good tune and fluid change at 100k, but that is all.

Make me want to vomit just like the Flex does. Same ugly styling. It's interesting that they put the G through the slalom a lot faster, but it was rolling like a mother. I wonder if the SHO's tires sucked as it was taken through slower, but with significantly less body roll.

My best friend has an 05 F150 with the 4.6 and he has 340k miles

We have done spark plugs and coil packs at 270k miles, a new battery at 280k miles, New A/c Clutch (That was a pain to install) at 320k miles and that is it..

Today he called me and it has a pin hole leak in the block where the coolant is dripping out. I think we are going to try to weld it shut lol and keep plugging away.

We are hoping to get it to 500k miles... should only take about 2 more years.

They do make things that last forever! I never thought i would say that lol

Would like to see the SHO in person, I do not think they will be a dime-a-dozen like the G's are becoming. Bunch of Taurus's yes, just like the Mustangs, but I'm betting the SHO will be rare just as the Cobra is.

As far as reliability????? My Furd's were much more reliable than my Nissan's/Infiniti's

Don't get me wrong! I love my Nissan's!!!! And, my re-badged Nissan's (Infiniti)!!! '

I think I would perfer the AWD Fusion, but just haven't had to deep desire to hit the Ford lot for a test drive. I would rather go test drive a new Z!!

New Z

I really think if something happened to my G now, I would go test drive a Z. I'm not saying I would buy one, but the back seat is so useless on my car, I might as well have a 2 seater. I would consider it for sure.

There aren't many in Memphis either. The population in this area is about 1 million people and we only have one Infiniti dealership and it is small. I guess that has something to do with the fact that one never did really turn my head before.

Woah. The G37 stomped a mudhole in the SHO's a$$.I applaud ford for trying, but I think they failed overall.Such an overweight car, and the engine barely handles it well. Its a FWD based AWD, which means like Acura, its basically front wheel drive with rear wheel assist. I don't like the styling at all. Like a rabid dog, it looks ok from the side, but every other angle it looks ugly, like an american brand camry after a short ride in a blender. But its just the results you expect from it on paper are much higher than what you get. Then there is the fact that it is overpriced. I'd rather buy a Mustang. With 37 grand I'll just get the G. AND a bag of chips.

The first SHO became an icon because Ford started with what was then the best sedan in their lineup, the Taurus, and transformed it with a high output engine, manual transmission and stiffer suspension. To accomplish the same today, they should have started with the Fusion and powered it with a supercharged V6. What they produced instead is an over-sized, overweight yawner.

I think Fusion will get this engine as an option in 2 years.

Ford has been moving up with power and getting into more sporty cars/trucks.

New Mustang looks lot better than it was previous few years. Ford Focus will be here with a 300hp engine too. Than the SHO and not to forget about the best. Ford 150 Raptor SVT. I think the fusion will get the 3.5 ecoboost tt engine. Too bad the Fiesta won't get the turbo'd engine option like Europe got.

I made the Furd mistake once with a '90 Mercury Cougar. Engine drank a quart every 1800 miles, transmission clunked, differential clunked, p/s pump leaked, a/c failed, doors hinges came loose every few months causing extreme door sag, body trim deteriorated around the windows and roof line, valve covers leaked, rear view mirror fell off every few months, sunroof gasket shrunk and caused wind noise, intermittant fuel gauge, door chime module lost power - something in the car's wiring,...

All of this before 60K and 4 years old. The only thing they would cover under the warranty was the transmission - and it started clunking 3k after the rebuild. I still have a memo on Ford letterhead saying that oil consumption at 1qt/800 miles is "normal" - "normal" was their answer to everything. That dealership had to love it when I made 50 copies of the memo and put it under the windshield wipers of all of the cars on the lot late one Saturday night for the Sunday "no salesman" shoppers.

Long story short I dumped it and bought a '91 Maxima. It's been all Nissan all the time ever since. I think it's funny that Ford's marketing campaigns have a recurring "we used to suck but now we're better please come back" theme.

Remember "Have you driven a Ford Lately" in the 80's followed by "Look again, look again..." sung in a country and western style in the early 2000's?

So yeah... union built by Ford. Ain't gonna happen. Ever.

'It rips to 60 mph in 5.2 seconds, 0.2 second quicker than the V-10-powered Audi S6.'

It is a little bit heavy but so would the 'G' with similar features. In reality how much more does it weigh compared to an M45 AWD? That may be a better comparison of autos the the 'G'.

Torque steer is one item that is brought up frequently but on my other car I really don't see a big issue once you understand it. I haven't driven an AWD with forward bias yet. But comparing my awd 'G' to my fwd I can state that with stock tires I can pull out of my wet grass without spinning the tires on the 300 m but the 'G' will often spin the back prior to the front cutting in. Wet pavement is another story, love the 'G' awd there.

Looks however, well without seeing one in person the pictures just don't do it for me. I think I would have to look hard to find one that looks as good as the XFs that I have seen showing up in town.
