Unfortunatly I don't think anyone here has any experience with the Power FC. I personally like the ease of installation that the Power FC has available, and it is "supposed" to be easy to use. As I said before, I don't know of anyone that has used it, so there is not a whole lot of supporting info on it. I hope to be one of the first on the CA forums to use it as I like the sound of the system.

Yea, kinda hard to find the power FC for the CA. At least, thats what I have seen.

Power FCs are on ebay all the time, but they range from $1000-$1300 for used/new ones... supposedly they retail for ~$1600 new, for the Power FC & Commander.

PowerFCs are a good way to go if you have familialarity with the way it functions or are willing to learn. You will still be using factory equipment which is a bummer. At least the SDS is a full standalone that eliminates all that crap around your intake manifold, AFM, CAS, coilpacks, ECU, harness, igniter, IACV, etc. You will get rid of all that primative mess and start out with a relatively small harness and go from there.

So basically, and as biased as I am, there is not much of a discussion between the SDS and the PowerFC for our motors.

Dee what does the SDS system cost that you recommend? I will eventually be going with some sort of aftermarket system for engine managment. Also do you sell them and have any recommended settings for startup base map tuning?

$1300+ for a new one... I picked up a complete EM3 system (current is EM4) for $1000 with all the options... was like $1400-$1600 new... system was only a year old.

Every year the price changes somewhat to keep up with competitors prices, but I would say in the ball park of around $1400 if you ordered it yourself; give or take a few dollars. I buy multiple sytems at a time, so I get discounts. It's an investment and a worthy one indeed and anyone that thinks an investment in a standalone is too much, needs not to be looking for extreme performance.

well i saw a guy tune his 98 ITR boosted B20/B18C hybrid and it was really cool, it is plug and play, his is the D-Jetro that uses the map sensor and lap top tuning, he had the commander that day, and it was really easy, i can see it being a problem when doing fuel maps from scratch, but is was cool

the one that http://ap-engineering.co.jp/ sells i think is a SR one with the plugs re-pinned, not too sure...

the FC also comes with base maps and there are allot of support and other users to get advice with, i know the SR boys on Freshalloy love em...

butr as Dee said there are allot of benifolts from going stand alone systems like SDS, Haltech and Wolf etc, but if i could afford i'd go with the Electromotive Tec 3 or if they had it the AEM Plug & Play Programmable EMS, now thats the s***!!!

I plan on using the Power FC. I see them up on eBay every now and then, but it always seems that they are up there when I don't have any money. Grrr
