Wheels fall wherever they may depending on your priorities & personal taste. But, if I may, the order in which to do even a pseudo-restoration is:

1)mechanical, 2)body, 3)interior.

I don't care how good your bodyman is, with all the required trim removed to properly paint the exterior, you're going to be pissed trying to remove that burgundy colored overspray from your new interior (-e-v-e-r-y-w-h-e-r-e-) if you don't do it last on your list.

Not to be flippant, curt, or condescedning, but been there & swore i'd never do it again in the wrong order.

Oh yeah, on the suede stuff, get two large swatches & sew them into the inseam of your favorite pair of jeans & wear them for a day. Come back & tell us how much you like it. :D ;) :pface

Haha..... Well my paint is fine, no sense in repainting the infiniti 3 stage paint job....

I had thought about doing a 2 tone leather.... They have a brown color that looks nearly identical to the dash.. I had even considered having it perforated, but that might look a little weird.....

Ill have plenty of time to think about it, as it for sure wont be happening until after christmas..

What would you guys think about the eggshell/charcoal interior from a 90-93 with my exterior color... I think it might look OK, but im not sure... I realy like the white leather though!

I think a good interior really helps the look of a car.

Nothing makes a car look "abused" more than worn interior and/or a dent. My old honda had both and it just seemd ratty :(.

I gotta say my car looks and is really straight & clean on the exterior, but I get my chops busted from everyone for the front seats being ripped up.

Still, interior comes last, after everything else is tip top.

I think it would look good with the exterior, but I'm not sure how it'll mesh with the other interior colors... I assume you're not going to replace the dash, etc?

I think I'd lean toward NEW leather vs. 10-15 year old leather... Assuming what you get is good quality, I'd say it'll last much longer. I guess you're planning on an engine swap if bad things happen?

This would be Freds old interior (which he needs to get back to me about ;) ), and if you recall he had EXTENSIVE leather work done just prior to the accident... :( Good for me bad for him!! :D

I do have the possibility for getting a black dashboard... That wushuhp kid with the wrecked 94 still has the dashboard, and the panels missing from it are identical on the 90-93s as to 94-96.. IF I dont like the brown dash I replace with black...

However, I will be replacing everything else like carpet, headliner, door panels, rear shelf, etc...

I'd think seriously about not replacing the dash... You're talking about a lot of work, and I think it could be very difficult to get the new one in w/o breaking brittle plastic parts and getting everything back in rattle free.

Wes - Get the dashtop dyed by a pro - I saw a guy at the dealership do it on a car, and it turned out SWEET!

$85 he charged.

Shamu interior on a crimson Q? SOLID choice. :)

Hitman, that is a consideration... the 92 dash panels around the instruments are the same, so it would just be the main dash...

I have connections, i think i could get it done for $50.....

Question... Would this hurt resale.....?? hypothetically, I dont plan on selling it <ever>

I love the Shamu interior on my 91. Same berry color as yours Wes. You would be amazed how many people that have ridden in the car always comment on it. It's a classic combo that the designers hit right on the head. To me the beige say's "Whip me, Beat Me; make me watch another Reality Show"Steve

Steve,I would like to thank you for your pictures..... If you dont mind, i may have to have you take some specific ones..... But this will do for mine...

Went and looked at the interior today (Fred's old Q BTW), and it was kinda hard to get a good picture because its in many pieces.....

Here are the pictures, the first ones being what I would get, and the rest being ones that came from Highway Q45s car (help give an idea how it looks in teh car)........

That's interesting Wes, my seat backs are white like the fronts. Wonder when they changed them?
