Had an accident a few weeks ago. Good news is everything appears to be repairable, mostly bent up control arms, etc on the passenger side. Frame appears to be straight and not bent, but will need to be pulled back into alignment as it looks like its a little askew. We took frame measurements across and diagonally, and it all seemed very close.

Where the passenger side lower control arm connects to the rear subframe got sheared up a bit. It's a U-shape, with the bolt going through the 2 sides. It's hard to tell in the pics below, but the top of it is sheared/bent back basically to the main subframe, ie: there's no cross support.

Can I just cut/bend it out of the way? Should I take the rear subframe off and have someone weld a new cross support? Should I get a new subframe? Otherwise, the meat of the subframe itself doesn't appear to be damaged.

Your best bet would be to just get another used subframe and stick it under there it get her back up and rolling if it was me I would pull the subframe out and replace it with a good used unit. While you are at it I suggest you change the bushings on it.

+1 to another subframe, I wouldn't go with the sheared mount as it does a pretty important job and at least would possibly give you alignment issues and excessive tire wear.
