Hello, i bought one of these:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...wItem

(HKS monkeys need not hate)

Cause i could not afford not to, and looks like ill be running the rb25 turbine for a while since im moving i was thinking about making the wastegate pipe its own tube extending it and pointing it straight down, and patching up the hole, my question is it worth the trouble? I have 3 inch turbo back to a fart can now so my exhaust "isnt" too restrictive...

any opinions?

Thanks

i have that same divorced style dump on my turbos, and its definitely better than not having one at all. but not worth it to open the w/g side to the atmosphere. first of all, its not like the turbo itself has a gasket to keep the exhaust and wastegate exhaust separate, so it will be like having an exhaust leak all the time. 2nd, 3" is more than enough for a stock rb25 turbo

i just returned the exact same pipe that is in that auction. didn't fit on my rb20 using the r32 crossmember.

i am running an open wastegate dump, and exhaust leaks out of it. it sounds dirty, but works. if i could find a seperated but closed wastegate dump that would clear my MF'ing steering shaft, i'd use it.

there is a nice soot trail across the hood. I love the foot-long backfires, it scares the **** out of people. The super awesome stock blowoff valve super sucks *** so I use the crosspipe off a Cefiro and have a Blitz suoer sound sticking out the wheelwell ahead of the front tire. The two things compete for who is the loudest and I am not sure which it is, they both echo real loud in tunnels and off buildings. I like that no matter whether I am accelerating or decelerating the car is yelling at people.

Well i cut the pipe off welded a patch over the hole and slaped it on, what a screamer, the exhaust leak isnt bad at all but the sound at WOT is too loud i guess i like it a little more stealth but fun for a few weeks, a little better overall performance though.
