i had silverstars, but they only lasted a few months.... and for that price it wasnt worth it to me to buy new ones each time they burned out so i just went with HID... you can pick them from autozone for about $50

I had some Silvertstars on my '98 civic I installed back in 2005. They were still running fine after 3 years.

Go with Philips. They're the OEM supplier for so many auto companies for a good reason. Reliability.

Just remember to properly realign your lights!

I've actually had really good success with the silverstar bulbs. Never had any burn out on me As for the commment someone made about running HID's... unless you change the housing to one that is meant to be used with HID's they will cause a horrible glare to oncoming traffic.

Read the service manual.

If they're cheap, E-Bay headlights then they won't produce as much as OEM. Usually they're just made to look good, not provide any substantial lighting advantage or even to be equal with stock lighting.

I just installed silverstar ultras in both Versas. Big difference. I'm very happy with them. Now to see how long they last...

Let me know how long the last Orest... I do alot of country driving (lol I live in Beamsville... there is country driving to go anywhere here) and while I am extremely happy with the lighting on my Versa, I am always looking to improve.

Count me in as one of the folks who had Silverstars burn out prematurely, twice. I took special care to not touch the bulbs on install. I got six months out of them on both tries. This was on my 1993 Sentra, about 4 or 5 years ago, not sure if the individual car could play a role in that somehow.

Scanning the interwebs I found plenty of similar stories, but you can also find plenty of folks who claim several years of faithful service. I think they are more prone to failure than typical OEM-type halogens due to the hotter, brighter filament.

+1

I figured the difference between 4000K and 4300K would be minimal, but it was actually very noticeable. There is a very clear white light that makes everything visible, yet I have never been flashed for too bright. The brights are awesome, sometimes too bright. An example would be if there is a few road signs, they get highly reflective real quick w/ the brights. I was going to purchase HID's but I feel these are plenty bright.

The best is when someone pulls out in front of you. You hit the brights and they regret it for life.

i highly recommend the Phillips bulbs that are comparable to the Silverstars, i believe called CrystalVision... they are really nice, have a slight hint of blue, and are cheaper than the silverstars

Just put some in my V. Hopefully they last as long as the ones I had in my mustang. I put them in 2-3 years ago, sold the car to my mom and they still haven't burned out.
