Seems like a nice way to look for debris. Is 5/16 the correct size?

Have to measure the filter area vs OEM and filtration standard likewise.

Unfortunately, water and ethanol are clear.

My concern would be the ability of a plastic filter to withstand it's current location near the exhaust manifold. I distinctly remember a "drive by poster" a few years back having an engine bay fire because he used a plastic filter. I think he may have relocated his too... not sure. Anyhow, I don't think it's worth the risk.

I'd stick with the dealer filter Jesda. Don't know why, but that filter media says "Fram" all over it.

guys use them, but it's not recommended. And they use them with low psi on carbed applications. Even then, they're often the cause of fires which end up taking out the whole car.

Aw, hell, if you're gonna do it, might as well "go large"!

5/16 is correct, but be veeeeeryyyy careful about the psi rating of the vessel. even some metal in-line fuel filters are not designed for 50+ psi that we need, much less on most plastic screw type ones.

Yo are absolutely right, that's why all (most?) filters for Fuel Injected systems are not plastic. The filters shown here are defenitely for carb applications.

Very good point. I once used cheap Napa hosing on the filter and within a few days it started splitting and spewing a thin stream of gas. Ordered OEM hose from Joe immediately. The PSI is high on the fuel system so if you do use the plastic, keep a fire extinguisher nearby.

I used a glass one (second picture) on an injected setup before, and it never leaked.
